They must almost feel like just giving up and letting the team die, then starting all over again with a 'phoenix' club, run by the supporters or something. Get rid of all the debt, the problem owners and start afresh... but would have thought it's too long a drop to consider that...
Norway - I might not make it tonight, I have a rotten migraine starting and I will probably head home before it gets any worse....
Morning all. Just read the Pompey news. I think it is about time a fit and proper rule was created for the people who run the Football League and the FA. They seem about as interested in having properly functioning football clubs as Al-Shabaab in Somalia, and with a similar lack of ethical values. Looking forward to the game today. It starts at 8.45 my time and if I can get young Master NZ out of his pit and into daycare quickly enough I should be able to follow the whole game. I can't predict the result. Could be a big score either way or a draw, but I suspect that it won't be boring.
The Pompey saga continues as I fully expected. I did make a few posts over the past couple of weeks suggesting that something like this might happen, but it does bring even more sharply into focus what the FL fit and proper test actually involves. In 2009, the Financial Services Authority blocked moves to establish Snoras branches in the UK, stating Snoras was ‘likely to fail to deal with the FSA in an open and co-operative way with respect to matters for which the FSA, as host state regulator, was responsible. Snoras and CSI are linked by the chairman of Pompey until he stood down today. Seeing as he is fighting an extradition order over missing monies from the bank and CSI are now in administration, I don't think he had much choice. If the FSA refused to allow a company with him as the main shareholder into Britain, how does he become a fit and proper person suddenly?
They most definitely are not strange - just Australian Death of a King wasn't the best of songs though - unlike this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKE2hmgzUgo Brings back memories
Does anyone know if the FL will kick a team out if they've been in administration a certain number of times (even if any of those were in the PL)? For the fans sake, I hope that Portsmouth aren't at that stage yet.
I really feel for Pompey. I remember watching the FA Cup final on Southsea common. The whole city stopped and the streets were packed when they had a parade around the city. It was a great atmosphere. I wanted to wear my Watford hat (blue and light blue) but I wasn't allowed (winter hat in Spring may be a bit obvious!).
Some answers, not from LazBaz. 1. Which Watford footballer scored most goals in one season? Cliff Holton 2. In 1997-98 Watford beat one team 0-4 on their travels, who? Luton Town 3. Which Watford player's middle names were John Giblin? Maurice Johnston
Do you have something behind the bar for fingers that are over worked ak? Have you managed to source any more Hooky? I am finding that I miss it in the same way that some ex-pats miss baked beans.
Sorry BB, the smell of that puts me off. I was hoping that maybe our Rock Goddess would come out from behind the bar and gently massage them for me.
