You mean verbatim like your post above?

Does make you look rather dumb in fairness ... Israel just now declaring "open season on civilian targets"?

Didn't realise Pandas hibernated ... you must have slept through all the dead Palestinian women and kid numbers to date <laugh>

You're actually missing the point to such an extent, I have just came to the conclusion you're on the wind up.

Israel has been killing civilians for years. Its only now that it's been reported on since it's on a large scale.

Its all fine though because they are mates with usa

    Give me a break.

It's always been reported on, at least since as far back as I can remember.

No other country gets wall to wall coverage like Israel does. The BBC has had a live page up almost without interruption for nine months, even if viewership drops to a couple of thousand people. Smotrich farts and they fly out a special correspondent to report.

No other conflict in living memory has come under such scrutiny and attention as the Israel-Palestinian one.

I would have far, far more time and respect for the anti-Israel camp if only I saw some consistency in their morals.

Weekly protests in central London are all well and good, but where were all those people when Basshar al-Assad was carpet bombing and gassing 300,000 innocent civilians? Where were they protesting the Masalit genocide in Sudan, where 17,000 civilians have been murdered by insurgents in the past year?

Bunch of myopic, willfully ignorant hypocritical schmuks.

I think a lot of the protest comes from the fact that both the UK and US enable Israel to carry out their atrocities, by supplying them with arms and diplomatic immunity.

The protest is aimed at our own Govt, and is a collective show of the disdain for the support of such an oppressive regime, rather then being aimed Assad or some Sundanese warlords who we have little influence over

I think people massively overestimate the UK's level of both support and influence over Israel. Maybe it's a stubborn post-Empire hubris, but the UK's influence and financial clout has waned massively in the modern era.

Israel is its 23rd largest military importer. The UK could pull all of its licenses tomorrow and it wouldn't amount to any material difference to the situation in Gaza, their support is that negligible.

There's a reason why Israeli politicians rarely visit this country, and it isn't just the threats of arrest warrant. They genuinely don't regard the UK as a relevant voice in the regional conversation.

The UK still exports arms to Syria btw, but hush hush, don't tell anybody.

The UK sells arms to just about anybody who’ll buy them. We seem to have zero principles about where we export our weapons to

Largest customer by a country mile are the Saudis. They're also America's top by a mile.

They have limitless funds and are an important counterweight to Iran. We're selling them everything up to nukes.

There was plenty of reporting on syrian deaths thank you, in fact we went and took out the syrian air force and implemented a no fly zone there as well as basically armed the rebels (who couldnt finish the job)

It only got pulled back on because of russian intervention and the spread of isis.

Im sure the gazans would take a media black news but get armed by our troops and along with a no fly zone

Very few protests and certainly not every week for months on end.

And if you think the UK intervened in Syria out of some benevolent moral calling, the heat's got to you. No country, democracy or otherwise, acts out of anything other than self interest. Even the 'heroic' USA only entered WW2 once it had guarantees that the scale of UK Govt bonds it would take in collateral would cripple the Empire permanently once the war was over.

The UK intervened in Syria because it saw an opportunity to oust a dictator with strong ties to Russia and Iran, not because it felt sorry for the Syrians. It gambled on the rebels winning and lost the bet. As a result, Syria is now a nightmarish halfway house mired in a never-ending cycle of civil war and death.

I imagine that the same will happen in Ukraine. It isn't in the West's interests that Ukraine wins, as that risks all-out war with Russia. And it also isn't in the West's interests for Russia to win, as that discredits the whole of NATO. A stalemate is precisely the best outcome, hence the West will supply just enough arms to keep Russia at bay indefinitely, but not a bullet more.

The UK's lack of intervention in Gaza is simply because it gains far more having Israel as an ally in the region than the Gazans. There is zero moral analysis in the decision.

    This is true.

And it's also why Netanyahu acts with impunity, because he knows the West need Israel to be their lapdog in the region.

I know that uk only acts in its own interest. Its the only reason we ever do anything and people are too ignore/dumb around geo politics and think we are knights in shining armour when we are really the us lapdog

I think you have got to the heart of the matter, the protests against syria didn't happen months on end every week because the uk intervened and took action so that all the good hearted do gooders saw them do something.

This conflict on the other hand (as well as it being jew vs muslim) has seen the uk effectively endorse the israeli massacre in the pursuit for terrorists and do precisely nothing.

Its not the media pushing this agenda, its the normal populace and muslim communities who see the injustice. In fact the government have tried to shut down some protests but know its futile.
