Do these boys even have exclusives anymore? They seem to tweet roughly the same time as others but they get more traction because they have more followers.
Romano does, he tweets literally 24/7, it’s borderline weird. Gold and KP don’t seem to tweet as much at the moment, which is probably a sign things are either quiet our end or the club’s keeping things close to their chests… but seeing as we’ve not brought in a senior player yet, it’s likely more the quiet aspect. Paul O’Keefe has usually been first for info this window.
Jonathan David's name was being bandied about a few weeks ago, while Toney's name keeps simmering back up I think we're due our monthly Vlahovic link, too...
Romano has a team that tweets for him doesn’t he? Doesn’t he usually just tweet the same as smaller accounts after they’ve broke news but because he’s known he gets the credit?
Yeah he does, still weird like, bloke drops tweets at like 3am. He’ll post if it’s an exclusive or not, or yeah he’ll just confirm the info that someone else broke.
Worldwide team so always got tweets ready to go. Not for me but fair play to him for having that on lock.
Everything seems to be more under wraps this summer. I feel like the Gray and Yang moves went very quickly once the names came out. Frustrating for the fans of course, as Ange made reference to in his presser! I’m concerned about the lack of striker talk too though, as we do need to add there, and I’m a little worried they might persist with Sonny as a regular option in the middle, which I don’t always love.
Gray only seemingly went quickly because Brentford had a bid accepted, makes me wonder how long we were planning to wait on that had they not made a move. In general I don't mind it if there's silence around moves and then bang, someone comes in, that's often more exciting than seeing Romano tweet 16 times and then a Here We Go but it's silent and no one's coming in, which feels like it's leaning more towards us taking our merry time like we used to pre-Paratici. Ange said he wanted new signings early doors, I don't think that quite meant two young players, one of which won't even join til January and Werner on loan though. I think CK is possibly right RE Levy and Brentford with Toney, it's the sort of thing he's done throughout his time at Spurs. Doesn't always work though, plus there's only about two weeks til the season starts, so any new striker or signing in general will have little time to adjust.
I guess that’s what I mean. I don’t doubt that all the work is going on in the background but we’re hearing less about it. Would have liked more movement in terms of incomings by now that’s for sure.
I also have the feeling he’s going to stick with Son/Richarlison as options for CF. With the extra games next season, the squad definitely still needs numbers. Unless he’s going to give the 4-5 promising youngsters significant game time
One thing that needs to be asked about Lange is whether he zeroes in on one player, or if he has backups That was what worked so well with Paratici, as he'd get one target on the hook but see if we could get a better one before we committed On the other hand this is why our transfer business post-Mitchell suffered, as Poch zeroed in on one player and ignored any suggestion Hitchen made
Paratici was just superb, genuinely think he was the best thing to happen to us in ages. As for Lange, I'm gonna reserve judgement until the end of the window and how things look during the first half of the season, doesnt seem like he's as efficient or as connected as Paratici so far though. Was very much hoping/ expecting we'd attack the market like we did last summer, I think we needed too as well.
The Corriere dello Sport (via Football Italia) claims that Federico Chiesa's agent has flown into London to hold talks with both us and Chelsea, while somehow man Utd get dropped into the article as well Sounds like a one-sided link to me, and the side it's coming from is the bloke hopping on a plane...
I'm not sure about any otters, but it would be hallmark Levy to try to eyeball Brentford until deadline day in the hope that we get Toney for £20m. I imagine we'll have a back up ready just in case Brentford don't blink and/or another team just pays the asking price and buys him first, but this sort of high stakes risk in the market certainly isn't unlike Daniel to indulge in.
Hopefully he does enough to get a permanent move. According to one particular expert on here, his only weakness was he wasn’t strong enough for the PL so Gil should take Girona by storm.
With him out now too, albeit currently temporarily, there's only two more players on the definite "out" list in Emerson and Reguilon, so there really is very little reason for the club to not start making one or two first XI signings.
