Apparently Southampton offered him a contract with much lower wages than he's on currently and he's told our owners that he wants them to cough up the difference for what would have been the length of the remainder of his current contract. He's going on a free, so I think we're trying to force Southampton to up their wage offer to get him, so we actually save a reasonable amount by offloading him.
Yeah, it's more Southampton playing hardball. They 'want' him, but without paying. Do they actually want him or not.
Yeah something like this. Wants us to let them have him for free and pay the remainder of his contract up
Finally you both acknowledge that nothing can be explained to you both. I go to bed and the pair of you are still stirring.... ironically
Still being somewhat tenuously linked to players. Thiaw and Moukoko. Latest one is some kid from Sheff Utd - Will Osula.
The evidence is what he said and what followed mate. Let's move on you're entitled to not care about the unnecessary ****house journalism that followed and the potential concerns players and other people had afterwards. He's staying so that's good.
So, apparently progress has been made regarding the signing of Malick Thiaw (£35m), Fiorentina have responded to our enquiry re Nico Gonzalez and are asking for around £25m - £30m and Moukoko, who we've been after in the past, may be about to become available for a similar fee... Three potential signings, strengthening CB, RW and striker options for around £90m - £95m. Problem is, these players aren't English/PL experienced enough...
Hadn't heard much about Gonzalez previously but I was saying to my dad last night that 100m for Thiaw, Madueke and a young striker like Moukoko seems like an obvious bit of business. We got 68m (in theory) for Andersen and Minteh.
