... as do Israel with strikes on schools - whilst claiming there was a legitimate target ... Hezbollah would have known there were Druze civilians there too ... Makes no sense ...
Because of the missile that was used if it wasn’t Hezbollah then Iran have gone straight over their heads and done it themselves. I don’t see it. Hezbollah have now just attacked two Israeli military bases. No doubt this will be forgotten once this goes to full blown war…
Would have to be somebody else in the region with the weaponry... ... but why would Hezbollah fire missiles into Syria and risk Syrian condemnation when everything else has been directly at Israel?
From the BBC Hezbollah has denied responsibility for the rocket attack on the Druze town Majdal Shams, and accused Israel of being responsible for it. In a statement, the Lebanese group said "it was not the first time that Israeli batteries and Iron Dome missiles have missed and backfired to hit areas around Majdal Shams and the occupied Syrian Golan [Heights]”. Hezbollah said the Druze community resided “in a space of peace and security” under the group’s rules of engagement, and so would not be targeted due to their “special status” and the lack of military targets in the area. The timing of the incident, the size of the explosion, the site of the strike and the types of civilians affected, were "suspicious" it added, saying Israel's accusations against them were a sign of "evading" responsibility for "technical failures".
They fired at the Israeli occupied Golan Heights and hit the playground and it has **** all to do with "Syria" apart from there are Hezbollah forces active there as well . . You seem to have some strange belief that wherever a weapon lands means that was the target . If this was the other way round you wouldn't believe for 1 second Israeli denials.
The Golan Heights is in Syria mate ... apart from that, you're spot on PS Hezbollah have accused Isreal of the strike - Israel have denied it ... I haven’t commented on Israel's denials
I know where the Golan Heights are since i've seen them and "Syria" as a state no longer exists it is just pockets of warring groups and the Heights will not be going back into "Syrian" control anytime soon if ever .
Not heard that mate - only that they agree with Israel ... All I've questioned is why Hezbollah would fire at the Golan ... Solid seems to think it was them but a misfire ... Interestingly, the Commander of the Israeli Northern army was on the news just now saying they have been prepared for ages and are just waiting for the word to go ... Also Interestingly the mourners at the funeral were aiming their anger at the Israeli officials present ...
"This attack was conducted by Lebanese Hezbollah. It was their rocket, and launched from an area they control," the White House said in a statement. https://www.reuters.com/world/middl...eights-rocket-attack-says-blinken-2024-07-28/ I don’t know the region well enough to comment much more but they’ve said it’s come from just over the mountains not that far from the pitches. Hezbollah have been attacking Israel since the 7th October. They’ll have been preparing since then. That comment from the commander was understandable. I seen some of the mourners lambasting the Israeli officials whilst others were demanding that they make Hezbollah pay for what they’ve done.
err well did i say it was a misfire i just pointed out rockets/ missiles don't always land where you intend. The reason they fire at the Golan Heights is the same as it has been for years
One thing Hezbollah have said is that the Druze people have a 'sanctified' status and would never be targeted by Hezbollah - so if it was a Hezbollah missile ...
