You could also have a Green Goddess in the 80's , Cider, lager and a measure of Blue Bols! Even worse was Cider, Lamot bottled lager and Blue Bols, that was proper looney juice, saw few people carried out to the car park after a few of those. Ohh what great days working for Bass Yorkshire in the 80s - not.
I remember this bird giving us loads of **** in Yate's (if I remember correctly) and was wearing an immaculate white dress. My army chum being him....swilled her with a pint of diesel for her troubles!
Anyone remember blastaway? White lighting cider & cast away (some kind of tropical fruit drink I think )
Diamond white and Archers peach schnapps where I grew up - same thing though. Was more of a girls drink at the time though.
Sorry NT, but I suspect they haven't had a minute since the season ended... not only with potential incomings but with the outgoings too.. we are in the market to build a team around a particular style, not build a wage bill.. some of the incomings are international it seems, they dont live around the corner... I just cannot comprehend the pelters Acun and his people are getting. We have a limited budget due too FFP, should we just have kept some of the crap we have off loaded to free up wages.
That was crap Acun & the 'brain team' signed and in some cases on an awful lot of money. That's why we're in the **** now, too many of the permanent signings simply weren't good enough and combine that with a short term approach of relying on loans and you find yourself in the position we are now.
So would you have them carry on making the same "mistakes".... sounds like it... mistakes like £1 million for Furlong (it seems) and we know why he was here..( I bet Acun had never heard of him)... as I said before, looks like we made a profit on Lokilo, oh and about £8 million on JP, or does that not count... you cant have it both ways.. Oh and finally... every team in this division and I mean every team will be reliant upon loans... they will not survive with out them.
You mention Furlong but fail to mention the Turkish golden child that is still on the books despite being proven to be nothing more than a regular in the physio room. For what its worth I could probably point to 2 or 3 teams that could challenge right now that dont need loans
There is no way we spent £1m on Furlong or anywhere close, probably more like £100k. It was a brain team signing, LR said he didn't coach him at Brighton and one of the analysts brought him up. Why can you not survive without loans?
Oh you mean the ones just relegated. or does your wisdom stretch further than that, please enlighten us... As for Sinik, he has been a dud, (so far) but you cant keep beating the owners with that stick. its old and its ****ing boring. All teams buy players the dont work out, ask the silly twat at Chelsea... in fact who was Leeds multi multi multi million loss on one recently..
Let me ask it another way, would Ipswich have been promoted last season without loans...? would we have been in and around it without loans...
Coventry Boro Norwich WBA If the squads were as they were now would probably be in around the playoffs. Also by your logic why are we leveraging furlong in the same regard then to beat Rosenior with?
If you think that this teams will not use the loan market, you're deluded... As for Furlong, perhaps we will never know who put him in the frame... but I distinctly remember LR stating he's a lovely lad and that he had worked with him at Brighton so ultimately I suspect the question was asked 'do you want him'..?
No need, they're good, I had many of them on a Saturday night in Spiders. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
