My best mate is a police officer and he was horrified by this video. There is no excuse for at all for stamping on someone’s head. I do not understand you defending it.

Yeah as I said I feel the first kick can be justified in the circumstances but not the stomp afterwards.

Agreed. The kick I can understand- though in steel-capped boots I don’t think it is a good idea at all. The stamp is not acceptable.

Sorry, is that not what they wear? It doesn’t matter. You are very angry about this. Police don’t get to stamp on heads and that is the end of it.

Does the officer not stamp the guy’s head in the new one?

I'm not angry, let alone very angry.

No it's not what they wear apart from on dedicated public order serials. It matters because you were happy to run with a narrative, any narrative because it portrays the officer in a worse light, even though you just made it up.

Police don’t get to stamp on heads and that is the end of it. In your opinion. That's not how the law works.

Well then the officer will not be charged…

Also, firearms officers do wear steel toe capped boots.

He will be. More important to appease a mob. IOPC will authorise charges, CPS will **** themselves and kick it down the road for a jury to decide. Both will be terrified of making a decision that doesn't result in that officer being placed in a dock.

Whether he gets convicted or not is more open to debate .

In the scenario using force to bring the person under control is totally reasonable.

You can’t continue to beat someone once restrained however. That stamp could easily have been death, if you allow it here it could lead to creeping acceptability of that type of behaviour in more minor instances.

If the guy wasn’t under control then I’d be far more understanding. That’s not to say I feel one iota of sympathy for the scumbag.

The Crim needs the book throwing at him, hard.

The Policeman needs to lose his job.

I don’t really understand the debate. The video shows what total thugs the guys were and that any attempt to paint them as victims is going to inflame a lot of community tensions again. The pattern of behaviour of causing carnage and then playing victim really isn’t one that resonates with people.

However, police have to be professional and composed. To stomp on a defenceless person (thug’s) head is still a clear breach of duty and responsibility. Regardless of what the thugs may or may not have deserved.

That being said, the pile on from politicians (the MP for the area, Paul Waugh, was clearly playing up to the thugs because that’s what his constituents want) and the unhelpful interference of the Home Secretary before any investigation, is also clearly a slippery slope. As we saw with Suella, politicians just shouldn’t involve themselves in operational police matters when they have their own mechanisms of investigations. This only serves to inflame community tensions even more.

These are favourability ratings not voting intention ones. Now maybe there hasn’t been time for voting polls but I’m sure I’ve seen some and they are all closer and Trump still leads in most. No way Harris has a 10 point lead in Michigan

Also - are Arizona and Nevada now write offs for the democrats? All the talk is on the Rust Belt. They were won narrowly last time. No idea what has really changed

interesting that they show margin of error on favourability. And that Fox is showing it. Didn’t think that margin of error really makes a difference there. Unless they are doing it for other purposes? Either to spook their base or encourage a shift in tactics ?

There’s still no way that kick in the face is justified btw, when the guy is on the deck and no longer a threat.

Would be interesting to see him try slinging punches at the cops in France though, the twat.
