How the Dutch have gone and selected a convicted child rapist for their volleyball team is beyond me though.
Must have been terrible for those that actually paid to go see it. Most of it was too far away to see, alot of it was in a different part of the city altogether which means they were never going to be able to see it, the actual ceremony bit was around a corner away from the river where just the dignitaries and celebrities were seated and then to top it all off they travel to an empty park about a mile away from any crowd to light the torch. All the public got to actually see was a bunch of people on boats and them some dancers at the other side of the river, the rest they would have had to watch on big screens. Might as well just stayed at home and watched it on the TV. As to the content, meh Olympic ceremonies always make no sense, but it didn't seem to have much to do with French culture (other than looking at some nice buildings). Also they said it was unrehearsed and boy did it show. Those can-can dancers didn't seem to have even met before last night.
Let's try to be fair to ze French Did the 2012 ceremony that that gobshite with the isimbard kingdom brunell hat on make any sense to anyone either. Now, let's stop being fair to the French It was a pile of utter ****e.
It's a long normally 4 years for a very short event thst can go wrong easily. It'd not really 4 years as there's many events and medals in between but the olympics is the Olympics for a lot of these sports.
He was 2secs behind bronze. Silver was 10 ahead of Bronze. He lost about 15-20secs with the puncture. So I reckon without the puncture Silver was well within grasp. Gold was never on, even without the puncture but tbf it wasn't on for any of the other podium finishes either.
not convinced he lost 15 secs as he4 had already noticed a problem and called it in so was a quick swop over
Still no Golds. Obviously early days and GB's biggest events haven't started properly yet (Sailing, Rowing and track Cycling).
