I'll be looking on, with great interest, to see what happens with Burstow.

He's a young 6'2" athlete who's being paid by a top London club and has been involved in football all his life ...

... I'm just amazed he could look so disinterested in playing the game.

I'm starting to wonder if 'success' for some of these young lads is getting their first Porsche and Rolex.

I doubt the Sunderland kit man ever had to wash his shirt tbh.

I heard that we seemed to miss the finishing touch again. Let’s hope we can get someone in before Cardiff just to get them bedded in as much as we can. Heard Browne played well and Jobe wasn’t too good. I still think AA should be in that midfield 3.

we aren’t too far off I don’t think

Jobe was good 1st half, but struggled 2nd half. Wasnt for a lack of trying but he started to drop too deep

Adil will.likely get 90 on Tuesday night

Really think Aouchiche will provide that creative spark to link the midfield to the attack a bit more seamlessly

If stansfield is going for 6m. I’d sell ekwah to get some funds for that personally. That midfield 3 seems stacked

We missed the final pass a lot more than we missed the finishing touch tbh.

just said the exact same thing to one of the lads, I like Ekwah but I have a feeling that to go to something like 6 mill someone will have to leave.

id love stansfield here, think he is the perfect fit for how we play

I agree - but people keep saying we don’t need to sell and we’ll spend the money on the right players so if that’s the case it begs the question who is the right player..

For what it’s worth I do think we’ll sign a striker but not having one ready to go when the season starts in 2 weeks isn’t great.

Should be aiming to sell a player for a big fee every summer. Always see people saying they don't want us to be a selling club, but I see selling players as a good thing. Aslong as you have a good recruitment team, which I think we do, it allows you to grow.

Quite right, and it attracts young ambitious players who know they'll go with our blessing ...

... whereas we used to attract bored journeymen looking for a last juicy contract.

Reading things like that always reminds me of a young lad I listened to when we were on a boat trip in Egypt a few years ago. Young lad about 20 from London and a young lass, not giving it the " big I am" by any means but you could tell that they really thought something of themselves (I suppose they're allowed if they so wish) and he was telling these other young uns **** what car he drove ( "top of the range Audi" by all accounts) but it was only when he mentioned that he played on loan for Hartlepool that I started to take notice. According to him, he didn't like it up here that much cos - and this is what sticks in my mind - THEY WANT YOU TO RUN AROUND A LOT! I couldn't get over it. He was released by Reading and wasn't that bothered about getting another club close he was leaving that to his agent and would give it a year to see what happens. Totally wrong kind of attitude for me
