Most things are these days Watford but people seem hell-bent on sensationalising everything. Mind how you go though mate. There's a few on here that are just waiting to pounce on anyone who dares utter a bit of common-sense.
I really didnt think there was anything wrong with his tweet. "Suicide is a mix of the most tragic, most selfish, most terrible (and I want to believe preventable) acts out there." Although for some that may seem insensitive his twitter is where he expresses his opinion (dont we know it) and both before and after that tweet he "tweeted" of his shock and sadness at his death.
I struggle to believe that Swords. People are always having a go at you and you wouldn't know common sense if it hit you in the face.
A man dies at his own hands leaving a distraught wife and kids, and within a day and without knowing any of the facts, Barton pontificates that suicide is one of the most selfish acts. I'd say it was unwise. I don't complain about his view, but the timing of his spouting it out to the world. Let's hope he exercises better judgement on the pitch on Saturday.
what's really so very sad, it that a man so universally respected and liked could not feel he could turn to ask for help. To see and read so many tributes from players, past and present is humbling. I only hope that his wife and two sons don't blame themselves for not spotting anything, and that eventually, in time and after the grieving process, they can move on with their lives.
Best post on this thread Agree Barton may get in other teams outside Top 6 but we got him and to be fair he is getting better but sorry he's not QPR yet in my book and I hate the fact that in a short time he is considered a leader
He's club captain. That means that, in Warnock's eyes, he's a leader. And we need all the leaders we can get. With Paddy (when fit), Anton, Clint, Derry, Faurlin, Helgs, Mackie, there's no real shortage of leaders in the team, and Joey is certainly counted amongst that number in my books.
He's a plank and just won't keep his mouth zipped. But we knew what we were getting when we signed him and unlike Oddaball, I think he is a good player especially when hes in the center. He brings the best out of young Faurlin as well which is very important.
Well I won't even go into the differences between an unknown fan posting on a forum and Joey Barton tweeting like a deluded compulsive Philosopher. Not ironic at all really Northolt.
how he's mastered getting both feet in his mouth at the same time amazies me, puts Joey in a class of his own,his constant digs at Mike Ashley shows that he can't just leave it alone, sometimes i wish he would just keep his trap shut and let his football do the talking.
The thing is if there's ever a time when talking about the issue (Not Gary Speed's case but in general) it is when it is in the public eye and everyone recognises what can be done to help. You can see this in the Footballers Depression clinic where 10 footballers have already called asking for help. (BBC Sport) Im not trying to draw a silver lining as nothing detracts from the tragic circumstances but sometimes it takes a horrible event in the public eye for progress to be made.
What was it John Gregory said to Stan Collymore? "You're on 20 grand a week, you can't be depressed". No wonder Marc Nygaard played the way he did if that was the character of Gregory's motivational speeches!
Nay. COLIN's motivational speeches are a thing to behold. I think you had one up before North when he were Manager of Huddersfield? Puts Churchill to shame!
