I wouldn’t be surprised if the hold up with Mandy is related to work permit issues. At the talk in KS said that the hold up with announcing Regis was because of the delay in the application process for work visas because of Brexit
No one has had anything close to a meltdown tbh ... ... having said that, if your pension fund manager was accused of skullduggery I could imagine you having one
Anyway it’s been reported Mendy could take a while now because of the Caen takeover and they want to talk to him. So hopefully we move on quickly if we can’t get it done
I think my concern comes from the fact we have struggled to sign a decent striker for 4 windows. Surely I’m allowed to be concerned no? I hope we do get it done and I never ever slag the hierarchy so because I have one concern I’m not allowed to have that? yes i overreacted probably but this while I’m a fanny **** is just hypocritical
What for 3 transfer windows? If we don’t bring one in this window then serious questions need to be asked
So he's managed to sign wingers, centre midfielders, full backs, centre backs, goalkeepers. Why do you think he can't sign centre forwards? Is it because they speak a different language to all other positions and he can't communicate with them? Does he have an irrational dislike for centre forwards so is refusing to sign one just to snub their kind? Does he have a centre forward fetish which spooks every one of them that enters the building so they all run away? Or is it, and I know this is nowhere near as likely as the scenarios above, that a deal that is right for all parties, for a player in a position that is becoming an increasingly rare commodity, hasn't been reached? Doesn't seem strange to me at all. Everyone wants us to sign a centre forward. Seeing anything strange in us not having a signed a good one for a while is paranoia.
O could it not be that we cabt a get a decent one in the budget we have until we sell someone? Ugbo might be possible this year at around 3m by the sounds of it so we could be sound. Mendy we could have had but sounds like there is issues with their takeover and them wanting to keep him. just hope we pull it off before needing to sell anyone
Yeah, that's what I mean- if we can't afford it, the deal isn't right for us. I'd rather we were run responsibly and we have to wait a while for a centre forward than we end up like Bordeaux.
This is my thoughts as well. We are going for the same strikers as clubs with parachute payments and big sales in recent years, no chance of competing until someone goes. Even if it's just Ekwah who goes it would help.
Whoa there, just let's get something absolutely straight. I'm not specifically referring to you but this nonsense is being repeated almost every time I respond to people. I'll spell it out so it's absolutely clear what I'm saying. Of course people are allowed to be concerned about what's actually happening in reality, that's perfectly normal. What you've decided to be concerned about is that SAFC have deliberately delayed signing Mendy when everything has already been agreed. You're also concerned it's because we're pushing for someone else. Then you're concerned we'll have to go crawling back to Mendy. You're saying all that feels weird but it's all in your head, you've absolutely no idea if it's true. You, me and everyone else can be concerned about signing strikers, or whatever else, but you can't just invent something and expect everyone else to believe it. I'm not saying you're not entitled to be concerned, just saying your concerns may be based on something totally different to reality.
The reality is that we have signed strikers. Speakman has signed, what, 8 to date is it? The issue is that at the price point and wages we can currently afford were looking at dice rolls. The dice rolls over the past couple of years haven’t worked. And the idea that we just don’t take as many rolls and lump all that cash together to get a surer thing (if such a thing exists) is an oversimplification. If we’d had a stewart-like success in recent windows nobody would mention it. Truth is all the stuff regarding ‘proven championship’ and ‘experience’ is smoke and mirrors. What people want is success. Sure it’ll happen at some point. It’s not like they have no track record whatsoever of it.
