Ronnie (Buster) Edwards? One of the Great Train Robbers? He must be getting on a bit, as the robbery was in 1963...
My thoughts. Alex Mc must have been day dreaming at the start of the match, yes he made the save, but oh boy! I enjoyed both Smallbone and Aribo, so great to see them push forward and be available. In summary the other boys have played ok. Dibling took his goal very well.
You can see why the club wanted to get Edward’s in now. Looks very accomplished already and a lovely footballer. The future of him and THB looks exiting.
RM to Edwards: Ronnie, step up RM to Dibling: Tyler you're in, Tyler you're in... there you go *ball goes over the top* GOAL
Getting O'Riley wouldn’t just help with our attacking play but also defending set pieces. Still look vulnerable at corners etc and could do with a bit more height in the team.
Maybe I should have said a more frequent option, as I don’t recall us doing it so often in one half, last season, despite runs being made.
Saints - second half: McCarthy; Sugawara, Harwood-Bellis, Wood, Taylor; Smallbone, Downes, Aribo; Amo-Ameyaw, Mara, Edozie
RM furious with the ref with that yellow for Flynn and it looked like he got the ball to me. Free kick casually dispatched by the Frogs
It's getting to the stage where I'm starting to think Dibling will start at Newcastle. He's having a stormer of a pre-season.
Think he’s definitely working himself to staying as part of the first team squad this year and improving all the time, physically as well.
Saints team - 63 mins: McCarthy; Bree, Harwood-Bellis, Wood, Manning; Alcaraz, Charles, O'Brien-Whitmash; Amo-Ameyaw, Mara, Robinson
