Definition of skulldugerry is underhand and unscruplous. Doesnt seem like us at all. If you are hoying such accusations around you need to back them up. On the face of it unfair on the club on your part. Sad.

    It's because it's difficult.

If we want a striker ready for the top half of the Championship we have very few options.

Which other top half club would sell us theirs ... none, even if they have one, few do.

Which bottom half clubs have one we'd want ... none that I can see.

Which PL club would sell us one we could afford ... none that I can see.

Which L1 or L2 clubs have one we'd want ... none that I can see.

So we're looking at Europe with all the dodgy agents and players from all nations.

My guess is that we'll find one who'll sign and be loaned another from a top PL club.

There's no skulduggery, it's just that demand exceeds supply ...

... true centre forwards are more scarce than ever before, too many players want to be goal scoring wide men imo.

Skulduggery is probably a silly word to use. Probably is being generous.

It's absolutely impossible that there's any skulduggery ...

... how could that possibly work.

There's clearly none of that going on, if we have a look at someone and don't sign them there's nothing sinister about it that's just how football works.

There's a regular claim that the club arrange stunts to 'appease the supporters' ...

    ... what absolute tripe.

Why would they possibly bother to do that when there's group of 'supporters' who'll never be appeased.

Some people just insist that everything's a conspiracy but never actually provide anything that resembles proof.

By all means, spill the beans if you know the club have done something out of order ...

... but, ffs, don't post vague hints that the club are doing anything potentially criminal.

I like Embo and he'll always have a place in our history after Wembley but there are question marks over his fitness and his ability at Championship level.
FWIW I'd keep him, but I'm not sure where he fits into the squad - he's not fast enough to play wide, so does he have the vision and discipline to play centrally? Not sure

100%. I remember the L1 years where Livepool released some young left back on the understanding he would come here. We then did a u-turn when Cirkin became available and signed him instead. If the club have identified a better player then they are well within their rights to sack Mendy off. We're not a charity...

    He needs to.

He’s at an age where he absolutely has to be playing every week and he isn’t going to get that here.

Real shame as he’s got plenty ability. Rotten luck with injuries.

Skulduggery was a strong word to use. Of course it's not criminal dealings.

Just strange to get we have players over and could have signed and then tell them there is a delay. That's not normal practice. The player will feel that it's a bit **** to be fair.

As long as they get a striker sorted.

He absolutely needs to. Injuries have done him in here and loads of players are ahead of him in the line to start. Needs to start fresh somewhere.

No one knows what's going on with the striker mate, if he's gone back then it could be all kinds of things from sorting personal stuff out over there to waiting for work permits.

That’s what I’m hoping for, Rusyn had to stay in France while he sorted his permit didn’t he? Hopefully something similar happening here, would be great to have one through the door with a few friendlies to go

The reason I posted what I did is because I was told that we choose to delay.

Hopefully the info is wrong and we get one over the line asap. Don't want to be pissing about and going into the season with no striker deal done. There is no excuse this time.

But why would we choose to delay getting someone in? I'd say it's quite clear we aren't penny pinching.
