as a counter to what grinds our gears, i have a challenge for whoever likes the sound of it.

i read a few weeks back that there are something like 58ish people on the cover of the moptops' sgt pepper album. it got me thinking about who i would have chosen. i don't want to constrain readers' choices in any way, so you get to decide the criteria for your choices. yes, of course you could make it the best 60 city players you've seen, but maybe make it a bit more meaningful, perhaps with the people you most admire, or the people who have had the biggest impact on humanity, or the people you recall impressing you throughout your life. you might even include some relatives of yours; totally your choice. you might want to follow the lead and the criteria - if you can work out the reasons for their choices - of the four very famous people (all in my list) mentioned above. you might even want to make multiple lists.

i'm not going to suggest you post your list. i've no intention of posting mine because apart from being very personal i think it would be deeply revealing. i also don't want to have to defend my choices, some of which people might consider trivial. there are many music and sports people on mine. i might tell you some of them, but not all of them. that said, do as you wish. it's a loose challenge, but perhaps interesting, and perhaps harder than you think to come up with 58 or so names. you might need to give it a few weeks, since it's easy to miss names that ought to be included.

anyway, it could be interesting to see what names people are prepared to reveal. it might send me and/or others in directions that hadn't occurred to us.

on that basis, my list includes four beatles, morecambe & wise, buddy holly, alastair sim, alan turing, thomas sowell, thomas paine, nikola tesla, ken wagstaff, chris chilton. and anouska hempel. i have 45 so far.

Shouldn’t this be on the Now for something completely different thread. It’ll get lost here and it has potential. This one is for having a good moan, not that we do it coming from our fair City of course!

Get a tin of Raid mate, it's instant death for the little twats, but spray in a well ventillated room. I nearly used a full asthma inhaler after my first spray. <laugh>

Serves you right you murdering bastard, I have a very novel way to deals with flies that get past the door fly screen, pull the blinds back and open the window, amazingly they go out of it every time. TwoWrights, wouldn't hurt a fly.

Gulliver does, but he's hitching a ride on one of his pets en route to Lilliput I've heard. Just one more of his many travels there. His comfort zone. :emoticon-0100-smile

Do you mind me asking why? We did it for about 6 months and I felt really good on it, lost weight and seemed to be generally much healthier. But in the end, like most things in my life, I caved in and failed miserably.

    Needs a rebrand for sure.

    Round of 24.

    Pre-final.

    Final elimination round.

Super sudden death mega shoot out.

    ****ing insane mega pressure round.

Or for the 100 metres it could be white boy participation final.
