The difference between Sam Amo and Sulemana is immense. Sam backs himself to go at a player whilst Sulemana passes backwards
Great to see so many youngsters getting game time. Ali Gomes and Harrison Miles would both have been on this tour.
The first 60 minutes were better than the last 30. I would expect those who came on after 60 will be starting on Saturday to get the minutes in, but I want to see more of Dibling. Not impressed with Lis nor our playing out from the back. Got closed down far too easily. Nathaniel Boot, never heard of him before, didn’t have to do much defensively but he looks like he will fit in with RM’s style of play. Very comfortable with the ball.
So who was missing from that? Stewart, Larios, Lallana, Stephens, Edwards, Lumley, McCarthy, Bednarek, ABK and KWP. Have I missed anyone? Edit: Yes, Tall Paul! Stewart and Larios still returning from long term injury. A few out with knocks, in Lallana, Edwards and Stephens? Bednarek only just joined back up with the squad post Euros. Do we know what the status of ABK and KWP are?
FT Bordeaux 2-3 Saints Saints representing GB as a Beautiful British Beer please log in to view this image play another pre season friendly, this time against French side Bordeaux please log in to view this image Bordeaux playing in a changed strip of black and white from their normal claret and blue. Bordeaux started the game with intensity, bold on the ball, constructing moves of complexity and crisp passing. But it was Saints who scored first with a goal that had more than a hint of jam about it. The game became a bit robust at times with some spicey tackles leaving a nasty aftertaste. Generally Saints were lively, elegant and sometimes flamboyant, it was a well balanced display. In the end Saints won comfortably, but it was not a vintage Bordeaux performance. That's enough of pretentious wine descriptions, this is something I found while looking for Beautiful British Beer. Not always politically correct but that's what you get with the Pub Landlord.
Looks like the game v Montpelier will cost £5 to watch on the Saints website. Hopefully Saintsplayer can pick it up.
Lets hope we paid for Mara in installments. Jokes aside that is awful. Massive club with good history... and it was very almost us a while back. Feel for the fans.
