It was a young side for sure .... but there was only one 17 year old (who imo should not have been playing without experience around him as he was out of his depth, as good a prospect as he is), one 19 year old. The rest were over 20. Average age was close to 22.
Pep Guardiola admits Ederson could leave Manchester City this summer double swoop with KDB and the bed wetters will go quiet
It's the same circus every preseason/window. Especially on here. The same folk losing their minds has become the norm but every year it's a shambles and you'd have planned better yadda yadda. I've said before you have no idea how competitive talent markets work in practice and you just constantly reinforce that view.
Delap more consistent, more rounded player. Oscar more of a specialist goalscorer albeit a streaky one. Delap is the better player but we couldn't sign him as a permanent once the prem came calling. He was always a loan, never ours so I don't see the relevance of your comparison. It's not like we've even replaced Delap with Oscar, as we know we're in for another pair of strikers, so judge it when it happens.
the goals per game difference is minimal and regarding the comparison, not sure how it’s irrelevant to say our current best striker option is inferior to the one we started last season with. I’ve already said we need a striker and will judge after the next few weeks, just that there’s lots to do in a short time frame.
Because we won't be finishing the window with 1 striker, so whether we're stronger or weaker in that position is yet to be seen. The club are actively recruiting in that area, it's.been confirmed. It's not opinion. But yes, there is a lot to do in a few short weeks. Let's see how they get on.
Almost like that’s exactly what I said in my first post. It shows the amount of work still left to do. Surely discussions on the current state of the squad and transfers needed are allowed on a fans forum about transfers.
Discussion on what we need, discussion on players linked all fair enough, but a pretty big proportion of this board are behaving as though this is gonna be our squad, which clearly won't be the case.
I said I was getting a tad worried with the amount of work still left to do with not long until the season and identified a few areas I think we need as a priority to be competitive. Nothing more than that. A lot to do in a short time but unfair to judge before that time has passed.
Nothing much doing on the Transfer Thread...Thought I'd pop over to the Bedwetters v Strawclutchers thread. Nothing much doing on here either!!
Suspect we'll be waiting until August to see what the shape of the squad is really going to look like. Though we need some in the next couple of weeks or well be playing catch-up. Middlesboro went through something similar last season and ended up in contention despite a slow start and I'd back them to be stronger this season, so it may take time.
We should just call this thread that every window because it's inevitably the same every year. You'd have thought some would have learned, especially as last year we'd have been lucky to finish 14th based on this forum exactly12 months ago.
Ryan Giles not doing much either, just seen him shopping on Kingswood, some git shouted 'it's smoggy around here', sometimes I can't help myself. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
