I wouldn't be going anywhere near Stewart this point. We know he doesn't fit into our wage structure and that was before whatever wage increase he got upon promotion. And his injuries over the past few years... I would take 45m rather than 45m and his dead wages on our books.
nope. I wouldn’t go anywhere near him either. His ship sailed off the wear some time ago. We don’t need an expensive, broken vessel hampering our progress.
I know a couple of people who work at Saitns training ground, their interest in Clarke is genuie, as is their interest in Neil but they feel that Clarke would be easier to pry away than Neil. a player could be added to help the deal. but until it happens its all just talk Ian Harte ( his agent) is depesperate for Clarke to leave. as it will be his pay day too. Clarke is settled and is loving his football again, his last big prem move didnt work out. 20-25m should be enough for him to leave as other have said I would be more concerned about losing a Ballard/Neil than Clarke, maybe with Clarke going Roberts might step up....
I worked in Southampton for 2 years and have a good friend who was and still is to a certain extent very well connected with the club (he had some kind of dealings with the Liebherr family through his business) so I dropped him a line to see if he knew anything about these rumours. He has not heard anything and believes that there is no way they would be shelling out anything like 25m on Jack Clarke never mind adding Dan Neil into the mix. He said they are now being a lot more carefull with their spending to see where they are at in January. Guess its just different opinions from different people connected with their club, bit like ours really.
ah cool, could be different but just going by what they said, He told be about Stewart going before anyone else reported
yeah mate the lad I know told me about the deal and the money involved and I didn't believe him because of Stewarts injury but to be far to him he was right.
I didn't understand why Southampton signed Stewart and still don't. He was injured and there's rumours he's still not right but he doesn't seem to fit in with their style of play. They don't appear to have another player, of his type, so if they set up to play around him they'll struggle if he's injured. We had exactly that problem, especially when Simms went down, but we adapted thanks to Clarke and Roberts, etc. There's no way we'd risk bringing him back imo although Hemir and Mayenda might learn quicker if he was here..
I think, Stewart wanted to leave for more money, club was willing to give him 10k a week but he wanted more, most saints fans dont rate him

Strange one. But seems to fit the data type signing. Lost his way, lots of talent etc. We are canny stocked in his position like. But we do seem to be shipping a few squad fillers out.
If I had to guess I’d say the plan is that Clarke does leave and we are left with Mundle and Ba on the left, and Roberts and Poveda on the right. Bennette and Watson out on loan. Rusyn back to Ukraine permanently
