I think that’s a fair point, although as someone who has lived outside of the area for a few decades now, I do notice it more when I’m back in Hull, obviously that’s completely anecdotal and my friends might just be miserable twats!
Not at all, it was just very poor. I would love for it to be great and to succeed but it was not and I doubt it will.

Its on one of the higher floors, one down from Vue. Easy to miss it. I saw it the other day when trying to find a unit that actually had an open shop in it looking for a last minute present for my lad.
Sadly another beyond poor experience,, lots not available on the menu, anything with 'breadcrumbs' not available as they had run out! unfortunately too near the very good singer, possibly why there were so many errors on the food and drinks, ultimately though the reason we had to leave before finishing the food was some very undercooked food (they'd also managed to overcook another dish) - manager came eventually and rather than apologise initially kept explaining how it was 'fresh and temperature tested' (tasted / looked off). Asked for the bill and only charged for drinks ( though at that point my daughters and wife didn't trust eating any more..) Will never go back and would advise a large swerve for others...
Picked up our tickets for Newcastle earlier and I noticed they've had the paint tin out at the MKM, all the turnstiles and exit doors are now painted black. On the way in I also noticed that the old Charleston Club site has a new building going up, and at long last there's work going on on the old West Park Hotel, extensive work by the looks of it. Good to hear about the painting at the stadium. It's been a long-standing complaint so it's good that Acun and the gang are on it. If the black has replaced some of the council blue then that's good too, making it look a bit more City (and FC too obviously).
Went last night with the family, and we must have got lucky because we all really liked it. Food was tasty and well presented, service was good (not great, but good) - yeah, a couple of the items weren't available (strangley bread was one of them) but there was plenty of other things to choose from.If they haven't been open long they may just have supplier problems or haven't worked out how busy they will be yet. £300 including drinks and tip for 7 adults - not the cheapest but I don't want a pizza from Wetherspoons every time. I thought the Butcher Block was quite good value TBH, £32 and would have been enough on it to feed one very hungry person or 2 for a light meal. As I said, maybe I got lucky or others on here got unlucky. Time will tell.
Looking at the reviews of it on Google reviews, does seem very hit and miss (some of the (many) 5 star ones are a bit too gushing) - especially if looking at latest reviews and back. Glad you had a good time - we also went yesterday...
