It’s tough assessing them in a team situation where so many of them disappoint. Vaughan was the worst, Furlong not interested, Fleming erratic. Sandat couldn’t control anything or stay onside. Smith was terrible, gave the first one away and lost his man for the 3rd and 4th. Rocco was quiet. Simons abit headless chicken

Hall and Tinsdale showed the most. Ashbee for me looked very accomplished on the ball.

Well i hope you are right and the lad comes good but any keeper who lets in nine goals in two games, no matter what level, or who is playing in front of him will have his confidence shot to peices, and I cannot see Newcastle going easy on us on Saturday, can you?
The worrying aspect is that Pandur is our number one at the moment.

So this is a bit bizarre but I had an annual subscription last year and for two months, March and April, accidentally payed in addition $5.99 for tigers plus. I have not yet paid the annual subscription for season 24 - 25 but appear to be getting all these pre- season games grátis. Ok with that!

The result quite literally doesn’t matter in any circumstance. I’d rather us lose more now if it makes the board pull their finger out. We could just play lower league teams and keep it simple like we did last summer, oh wait we got outplayed by Scunny, Grimsby and Bradford last pre season too… it quite literally doesn’t matter

I don't think he will be by the end of August. Don't think he's good enough with his feet

The boards finger is out, they just can't control timescales on external decisions.

The needless Fenerbahce game has done Tim no favours imo. Meant his first game in front of fans he was hung out to dry with youth players. If we go on to lose to Newcastle and Fiorentina, which you’d have to the expect, you can guarantee fans will be turning.

A poor start to the season with an unfinished squad and I just have an awful feeling things could get messy.

It's gonna be how long it takes players to gel, not whether we'll have a squad, for me.

Agreed. No such thing as hung out to dry in a friendly really. We lost 3-0 to Posh under Shota and then started really fairly well. Let’s hope we get 2/3 over the next week or so

It's going to be a rough few months certainly. Just hope we can turn it round like Boro always seem to after an awful start

So, you want to scrap all the lower divisions teams? What would have happened when we were struggling at the foot of Div 4? We should have gone to the wall whilst clubs from smaller cities innDiv 2 carried on?

Well Acun if you’re reading sort this ****ing mess out pronto
Cos it’s all at your door this
You’re pissing off the manager you’ve chased
We need signings and we need them now
We need 6-7 first choice players for the first team yesterday
No manager can assimilate that many new players into his system in a few days
Tomorrow isn’t good enough but it will have to do
    Get your ****ing finger out

Boro went through a similar process to us last summer. Hence their slow start but they're a year ahead of us going into this season.

There was some neat passing out when the senior players came on, so that’s at least encouraging. I just hope we sign a CB sharpish, it’s the most demanding position in Tim’s system and you can’t just throw a player in at the deep end. Ideally the last 3 friendlies we play the back 4 we want to start the season, so they can get used to each other. Get Giles back to left back, get Drameh in and find a partner for Jones.

Coyle and Giles were probably the stand outs after the subs. Drameh isn’t walking into the side

Doncaster looked pretty good tbf but they clearly played this game at a higher intensity almost as if it was a league game. I hope Grant manages to build on their strong end to last season and get some success.

At the moment they'd stick him on the wing. Or one of the pair.

Yeah, I wish him well. A good manager at L1 and 2 levels.

Remember going to Bradford City, about 20 of us there for a preseason friendly a few days after plying Man Utd in Watney Cup in front of 34,000 and we were absolutely crap.Had a good start to the following season. Which shows all these things are irrelevant,
