Really? Bordeaux, with a far larger populaton than Hull with a 42,000 syadiim have just gone into the :rd tier in France, the equivalent og League 1 and are having to go part time.
League champions about 15 years ago too, weren't they? I remember as they broke Lyon's record run of titles
It's just pointless to play a game like this with a team like that. It needs more experienced players in it. Then again, it's not quite as bad as Newcastle travelling to the other side of the world a week after the season ends and getting dicked 8-0 in front of fans who've paid $60 to watch them for the first time in their lives
To scale was lively but a bit small , nice touch so has Hall, not sure about the rest but at their ages they can see wha it takes at Pro level . Strength , touch and brains
Well obviously the result is irrelevant but wasn’t impressed with the performance after the senior players came on
Not a lot to say about that, Giles looked lively, but a bit of a waste of a friendly, as other than fitness not much to take from that game.
Don't fancy our chances v Newcastle! All a bit of a pointless exercise that. Seri is still a class act apart from the odd mistake, Giles looked lively. Pandur is either uber-cool, or he hasn't a clue why he's there, twt. Kind of wish I hadn't bothered.
That's down to financial reasons though, not because of ability. The same thing happened to Le Mans, who also play in that division and Niort who now play in the division below. In Germany, Stuttgart, Hannover and Dortmund all have B teams playing in the third tier. In the level below, there are 18 B teams playing in the regional divisions. In Spain, there are ten reserve teams playing in the third tier and eight playing in the division below (some of which are C teams, or 3rd teams). In Portugal, Benfica and Porto both have teams in the second tier, with other teams fielding reserves in the third and fourth tiers. Denmark also have reserves in their non-league set up and maintain that there must be a two division gap between the first team and the reserves. If we introduced B teams into our league set up, they could all enter at the bottom rung of the ladder (which for ours would be Humber Prem Div 1) and go no higher than the regional divisions. Change the promotion so that it's two up two down instead of the one up further down the pyramid so that if a reserve team does get promoted, it isn't at the expense of another side.
I ge I get that it's only a friendly but that was absolute garbage, even after the changes. Pointless garbage and the travelling fans have been done. The only good I can see is that maybe just maybe serves to show there's real urgency needed in terms of recruitment?
