Just looking through the US MSM and the consensus seems to be that they were bricking it after seeing the poll returns as they showed Biden was in for a kicking. The hype about Harris is liable to be short lived, as most recognise that the issues that were a problem for Biden are part and parcel of the Biden/Harris ticket, so it changes little of the bigger picture nor the approach from the Republicans. Harris was far from the favoured option, but she's all that they've got while they're in panic mode. People are unlikely to forget that along with that, she's clearly been lying to them all about the state of Biden's mental health.
