Yes it's true....Newcastle will buy players it's just a matter of time. The one game a week advantage will help even without any.
Manchester City are considering a move for Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze, with the 26-year-old England international having a release clause of £60m plus add-ons. (Mirror)
If that we're the case I don't think they would have been bothered about getting Mitchell in, and he wouldn't have been interested in joining.
It’s frustrating but I think at the moment we have to assume they’re working on the highest profile targets they can. We have to think that Olise is the level we’re aiming at and those deals, when you’re not in Europe, will be even more complicated. Did read Douglas in the independent also saying how poor decisions have been in the last two or three windows. Not just in some really stupid bench upgrading approaches (Barnes remains baffling) but also in keeping hold of Trippier, Almiron and Wilson in January when all three have contributed so very little. I suspect Howe and Staveley were complicit and it looks clear to me that they accelerated the removal of her to get a bit tougher on Howe. No doubt he has credit in the bank and rightly so, but we’ve been gradually moving backwards thanks mainly to injuries and loyalties. I guess Howe has some sympathy on injuries - Pope, Burn, Barnes all freakish - but standing by Wilson et al is going to be heavily scrutinised. Ultimately we’re just moving into a new phase and Howe won’t be manager unless he’s performing.
Reports we are trying to offload Almiron, Trippier, Wilson, Dubs, Krafth, Hayden, Fraser and Lewis. Dubs and the last three are utterly surplus. Trips/Krafth would need a replacement (Thiaw), as would Almiron and Wilson. We really need three top class players, though I still believe we need a better Gk.
