@PowerSpurs what are your thoughts on Hojbjerg's departure?

I feel like you and I were on his back from day one. I admired his endeavour but never rated him at all. Classic jack of all trades, master of none who spent most games running around pretty aimlessly and was therefore almost always out of position.

Still produced some moments of real quality though. Overall, good value for money considering what we paid for him, but he was never the right person to take us to the next level.

I honestly think he is the main reason for our poor performances over the time he was here. He isn't too bad when we are in possession but is never in the right place when the opposition have the ball.

    Agreed.

    Positionally clueless.

Followed the ball, not the game.

Decent fee for Hojbjerg and 100K a week off the wage bill, he was never good enough technically, not mobile enough and had too many gaffs in him. He was decent for Mourinho and Conte ball but way off what Ange requires, you could not fault his attitude and commitment, a solid pro who always gave it 100% and I wish him well.

It's a shame he fell between two stools as he clearly had the drive and workrate to be an asset in Angeball, but was too defensive for the Sarr role yet not progressive enough for the Bissouma role

Hope he clatters Greenwood in training every single day

Glad a few unwanted players have been moved on.

Still lots more that need to be gone though. Hopefully see some movement with Gil, Lo Celso & Reguilon soon too. Again they need to be moved on permanently and not a loan where we know the club won’t be taking up the option.

Incomings need to start taking a priority though. We’re leaving Ange high and dry at the moment. The squad that’s flown out on tour is barely any stronger than the one that finished last season.

He didn't have Timo last summer, so the squad is incomparably better.

Yeah that would be ideal but I’ve come to learn with Spurs that they can’t do more than one thing at a time so right now I’d settle to see the rest of the dross moved on.

I always felt that Hojbjerg needed to play alongside someone like Carrick to get the best out of him.
He was always happy to press and engage, but his passing wasn't the best, despite being progressive.
Having cover behind him who could also dictate play would negate a lot of his negatives.

I think that the most complimentary thing that can be pointed out is his workrate and effort.
Postecoglou clearly didn't think that he was right for his system, yet he still played him a lot.
Sometimes chucking in a 100% player is desperately needed and he was always that.

There's rumours that we're set to make 40% of the £18m Ipswich are going to bid for Jack Clarke

So about the Saviniho deal, let's take a look under the bonnet...

    - Comes through the Atl. Mineiro academy.
    - Signs for Troyes for £6m, setting a new transfer record.
    - Troyes are owned by the same group as City.
    - He goes out on loan first to PSV then to Girona, never actually kicking a ball for Troyes.
    - Girona are also owned by the same group as City.
    - City offer Troyes £30m for him, which they accept.
    - Troyes have never sold a player for more than £10m.
    - Again, Troyes are owned by the same people who own City.

QED, City have just paid themselves £30m for a player.

    Am I missing something?

    Seems dodgy as hell.
