Other than Alisson, they are the three best players at the club and most difficult to replace. I'm fairly relaxed about the situation because I don't think any of them will leave this window. Until we get news that they have all re-signed though, it's still a worrying situation going into a new season with a new manager. Apparently Roy Keane thinks we will be nowhere near European places this season because the new manager is a nobody and the team are practically all on zimmer frames. (I may have paraphrased that).
Roy Keane is one of those people that needs to say something provocative to get noticed - probably everyone ignored him as a child.
Probably, but Salah and Virgil both look down compared to their peak, so we'll probably have to live without them soon enough anyway. Trent could play for the club for another 10 years if he wants and keeps his attitude up. I would hope that none of them want to screw the club over.
I can't see them, essentially, screwing the club over and leaving on frees from the positions all three are in. By that I mean, none are at the end of their usefulness to the club like say Origi, Oxlade-Chamberlain or Lallana were. And all hold integral parts with no suggestion atm that they won't start every game unlike Firmino and Milner, for example. I'd say only Wijnaldum has left unexpectedly (imo) on a free before his time.
The suggestion we will be signing in August but not now implies to me that we might be waiting to sell some high value footballers before we can buy.
well both the VVD and Salah negotiations may be tricky as they may well want longer contracts than we are prepared to offer and Trent well he holds all the cards imo
Danns being linked with loan to Plymouth. Be interesting to see if our loans change much under new manager. Feel like going out on loan under klopp was a sign that you weren’t seen as going to make it at lfc and was about getting exposure for a sale. can’t remember many players going on loan and coming back to play in first team? Bradley prob the only exception?
Quansah as well I think Morton last season was with a view to get him regular game time to hopefully come back and compete for a squad place. For the youngsters it always seems to be with a view to get them game time to see if they can make it. Then you have ones like Phillips and Wilson to drum up interest for a sale.
Seems that if a player is still going out on loan after 22, then their probably not going to make it. Be interesting if a rule was brought in to stop players going on loan over the age of 23. Frankly imo loans are supposed to give young players a chance to gain game time and develop, not to launder players (coughChelseacough). It would benefit the leagues if players were forced to leave a club to get game time instead of sitting around hoping to go on loan again.
I'd be happish with that given Plymouth are in the Championship and rooney is the manager, decent bunch of fans as well. To write off the best striker we have made since Owen (and I mean that) cos he's going to go on a loan is going a bit far.
In the end its up to the player on loan to do their stuff and the club then to be honest with them. If a player does a rhys Williams then there won't be a good outcome for anyone. If a players does a morton and has two excellent loans and a manager is still looking at them funny then that's on the club. If the Club then ask a **** off fee on top then long term they will run a ground as all the 16 year olds being procured will be looking and thinking it's all lies. For me Chelsea are proving thr power of agents in the worst way imaginable. How players are still willing to join and ruin their careers I don't know. Lfc need to be very careful now. You cant jam in more and more 16 year olds in behind 18 years olds with real prospects and then 20 year olds with real experience but not clear thr path for progression. Tyler morton is every inch as good a player as stefan bajcetic. If after nearly 100 pro senior games Tyler morton can't get a sniff but bajcetic is handed chances then it's not good.
From what I gather fifa are bringing in rules over next few years to limit how many loans you can send out abroad - with the view to stop clubs hoarding 30 young players and loaning them out for years on years
A rumpur flew about in the last 2 days. The drones looking at the slow completion of the anfield road end showed some tarps over the seats (they are blue) Someone move a couple in so the left 2 tarps sort of look like a 66. Sort of. So people went wild speculating a new trent contract was to be announced and marked 66 2028 (why I don't know) The usual **** websites are now reporting a trent 300k a week contract extension to 2028. Just to watch out for it.
