What a strike and what a day. I had uploaded a video of Richardsons free kick to YouTube back in the day and it was removed due to copyright for some reason, I’ve never seen it again after changing mobiles several times. Was taken from the west stand right in line with the edge of the box too.

If you watch the highlights you'll see how many times he loses his man in key positions, passes the ball back unless he was at centre back, where he shouldn't have been. I hope with a few more games and an adjustment to the role he'll improve.

Timothee Pembele: 6/10 Was sold a bit short for Eldense’s equaliser by Aouchiche’s pass but still should have done better, got forward whenever he could and made a quick clearance off the line and blocked a shot shortly before going off. Joe Anderson: 6/10 The pick of our defenders, was solid while he was on the pitch but without standing out. Leo Hjelde: 5/10 Had a lot of work to do and was doing reasonably well until shortly before he went off when he gave the ball away and completely missed a tackle trying to recover, luckily for him Moore bailed him out. Jewison Bennette: 5/10 Lively on the ball, as you would expect, but not good enough defensively, also as you would expect. Got caught by runners. Alan Browne: 6/10 Some good signs from Browne but looked a bit behind his team-mates and there were signs of rust. Showed his strength and experience at times but then some easy passes went astray. Elliot Embleton: 6/10 Worked hard in the middle of the pitch and created a chance for Rusyn with a great deep cross. Tom Watson: 7/10 Wasn’t given a lot of the ball but made good use of it with the opener, brought down Aouchiche’s pass, cut inside and fired it inside the near post. Adil Aouchiche: 5/10 Had a couple of early efforts which test the goalkeeper but then had to come too deep to be a threat up top as the Spanish side were on top, with one instance seeing a heavy touch and then a poor pass to Pembele causing the equaliser. Romaine Mundle: 5/10 Put in a great cross early on, which someone really should have got on the end of. Nazariy Rusyn: 5/10 Struggled to get into the game following the opening 20 minutes, had a reasonable chance at the back post but the ball bounced up, still got a head on it which allowed Aouchiche to get a shot in. Substitutes Jay Matete: 6/10 Looked better alongside Neil, which freed him up to get forward. Had one shot on target where he should have done better but before the substitutions looked a little ragged. Luis Hemir: 7/10 Scored a top class goal with a strike from distance into the very top corner, got stuck in while he was on as well, including getting into a tackle with the opposition goalkeeper. Jack Clarke: 7/10 Started causing issues for Eldense immediately following his introduction, driving up the line and could have had an assist after one burst up the wing, a drive inside and picking out Matete. Patrick Roberts: 6/10 No chance to get at the defence but being comfortable on the ball helped out the team. Dan Neil: 6/10 Gave us more control of the game after he came on. Luke O’Nien: 6/10 Not on for very long but the defence improved markedly after his arrival. Dennis Cirkin: 6/10 No chance for a burst up the wing and not a lot of defensive work to do either. Jobe Bellingham: 6/10 Solid display from the bench with the game ticking down. Trai Hume: 7/10 Absolutely flew into a tackle to intercept the ball, which fell to the feet of Hemir for the winner. Aji Alese: 6/10 Like O’Nien, gave the defence a boost when he came on. Man of the Match: Luis Hemir Eldense were in control for a large period of the game, then Trai Hume picked out Hemir following a great tackle, allowing the much maligned Portuguese striker to smash an absolute rocket into the top corner to win the game. It's July and Roker Reports ratings are already annoying me. Not even mentioning the pass Aouchiche played for the goal in his section. Hjelde a 5 while Pembele gets a 6. Wtf? Embo and Matete get a 6? Positive they are on the wind up or just don't watch the games.
well, good work out for the squad over there, add the 'heed and shields games and RLB will have a pretty good idea...most have done themselves no harm at all but one or two have struggled to make themselves 'first choice'. think a couple will be moved on, not going to stick good and bad labels on them but have to say mayenda and hemir are looking good, some very good hold up and move play from hemir especially...the 'main group' is pretty much choosing themselves, now we wait for outs and ins, hopefully see plenty of movement now.
