Rematches it due to this comment and you are right. Hardly seems to put any power into it the way his body moves but it was like a rocket!

thanks for the reply marra, as i sad, not something i have seen (or taken notice of) but i thought it looked far better compared to those that had the coach standing having a chat as the lads went through some motions.

I remember saying that he couldn’t half strike a ball when we signed him based solely on that YouTube clip. It’s like an art that some strikers seem to be able to just manage and others never will, Stewart was one of those that didn’t seem to really ever smash the ball cleanly from what I can remember.

Interesting how a goal can completely change the outlook of a game.

We didn't play great but more minutes in the legs and we return from Spain undefeated.

Really enjoyed the last 20, good tempo, seemed to understand their roles, to be expected of course, best hemirs looked, holding the ball up well, getting stuck in although fouled a fair bit :emoticon-0102-bigsm really happy for him

Another good run out for the lads. Decent opposition and played at a good pace.

Biggest positives from pre season so far

    • can see RLB is trying to increase our pace of play
    • Mayenda (and now Hemir) looking good in the fight to become our backup striker (assuming a new one comes in)
    • Hjelde looking much better as a centre back
    • Chris Rigg seemingly cementing himself as a starter and looking brilliant
    • Great to see Cirkin and Alese looking fit
    • Mundle and Watson looking decent as wing options

    You remember right.

Stewart struggles to hit any ball cleanly, even his penalties.

He'll never be the top player some people think he will.

Enjoyed that. Some good performances from fringe players and a really good final 20 when our better players were on the pitch, think you could really see RLBs desired system being implemented when they came on.

That’s the strangest thing you know, I can’t remember which game it was but Stewart had scored a penalty in the first half and some lads came over chatting to us in the concourse over a pint deciphering what had happened in that first half and I said I didn’t feel confident when he stepped up because he never looks like hitting the ball clearly. Obviously made a mug of me and scored, the lad I was talking to said what a load of nonsense but I always stuck by it.

Leeds fans voted this the best ever goal at Elland road ...

... I disagree, Eddie Gray scored one where he beat half the opposition, the linseman, two ball boys and the keeper.

Still, Hemir's wasn't too bad for a young kid trying to get into football <laugh>
