I thought this was some local semi pro side but turns out they’re second division in Spain so it’s not a surprise to see them giving us a good go, especially seeing this is our second choice side

Always catches me off guard just how good Spanish sides are in possession. Happy to receive the ball anywhere and always look comfortable.

 

Lethargic and fragmented so far. Got that ‘first round of the carabao’ feel to the performance.

 

Why does Danny Collins not realise that we’re no longer really playing with a standard number ten?

 

Fc Andorra in the 2nd tier played some great football last few seasons. Pep-eqsue domination ball. I think Emery name dropped them along with us back in 2023 for teams he keeps an eye on. They were relegated this season with the highest average possession in the league by a fair margin. Iirc they were also in top 3-4 for shots, GCA etc.

 

Some good, some areas to improve, typical pre season affair. One thing though, Mayenda is so far ahead of Rusyn and Hemir.

 

Thought we looked bright until we gave away a soft goal, buzzing for Watson, Browne understandably abit rusty, too early to write him off but Pembele worries me gets beaten far too easily but was given a hospital pass for the goal to be fair, Anderson and hjelde looking solid enough and good on the ball

 

agreed. It’s limited how much you can take from pre season but for me he’s gone from our third choice to our first choice

 

It was poor but Pembélé should never have tried to play the ball imo

 

Good atmosphere apart from this well educated chap calling the linesman a Nazi because he had a tash.

I think Pembele would benefit from some regular game time. Difficult for young lads who’ve not played much football to come into the team and perform at the drop of a hat in a system they’re only familiar with through training. He had a good spell in Ligue 1 with some CL appearances littered in there im sure he’s more than up to playing championship football.

 

Browne has been shocking, unless he's playing center midfield by himself, he's passed the ball forward more from center back then midfield.

 

wouldn’t say he’s been shocking. Rusty, sure, but not shocking

 

Agree mate, doesn’t help the rest of the defence changes everytime he comes in too, pre season is there to get mistakes out of your system, reserving judgement on him for now but not convinced he is a right back, wing back for me
