Marseille signing rapists and then raping us. Very good deal for them, Hojbjerg’s a £30m calibre midfielder and one of the few players on our exit list I thought we’d get a respectable fee for even with just one year left on his contract.

According to various people it sounds like we’re trying to speed some deals up, both ins and outs, hopefully that is the case seeing as we fly out in about a week, need players in by then.

Was Hojbjerg's most memorable moment for us the goal in Marseille?

Players, who the coach doesn't want, are leaving. The terms under which they leave aren't as important as not hanging onto them in a deluded belief that there's a better deal just down the road. That tactic has finally been shown the door. It's more proof that Daniel's hands aren't (mis)shaping every sporting decision in the club.

Having depreciating assets on the books, that the coach doesn't want, and will only play in extremis, is in the past...and ****ing good riddance!

I’d agree with that but then we rejected a bid for Emerson just the other day. On top of rejecting a bigger offer in January.

I'd argue that Levy has always been pretty good and flexible when it comes to moving on Hojbjerg's category of player, i.e.:

Useful and important servants of the club who aren't getting younger and don't have a future at the club.

We've seen countless examples of players from this category leaving for surprisingly low fees.

Dembele, Sissoko, Toby, Eriksen, Siggurdson, Dawson, Huddlestone, VDV and Hutton all left for peanuts when perhaps a more stubborn approach would have brought in double what we ended up making. And at the very least, none of them were as bad as their fees implied, especially when you look at what other clubs are demanding for similar.

The problem categories are young players who it is believed will miraculously 'come good' at some point and/or will flourish at another club, so we dig our heels in (@Dier Hard this is definitely what's delaying Royal's departure).

And then there are players who we spent so much on who ended up being so bad we couldn't give them away, and we held on in the faint hope that someone would be stupid enough to try to buy them. Ndombele and Sessegnon are examples here.

Ali Gold claims that the Hojbjerg fee could rise to £17m. Given the existence of PSG, probably not.

Without knowing what the club has the current
"depreciated" value for each player as, you cannot
objectively say whether good selling business is being done.

If the value for PEH is at best 13m odd, then only
selling below that ostensibly affects the balance sheet

Those saying he is a "30m player" , I ask : in which market ??
In the money-inflated PL ?? Perhaps so.
In the Euro leagues ?? I doubt it.

That aside, all clubs should be trying to have players
leaving on good terms. Which means trying to help them
get a decent wage at the new club while making their
transfer/wage fee burden at worst "zero sum" .

    Probably.
He is one of those squad "steady" players whose has
contributed to the cause without necessarily having
those moments that are forever burnt into supporter memories.

Probably won't be hearing many ITK takes this evening, as the main focus is the Twitter spat between Paul O'Keefe and InvertTheWing which started because ITW whined about Pedro Porro blocking him that has absolutely nothing to do with ITW's two year vendetta against Porro...

...on the subject of ITKs, apparently we're going to sign a young Korean winger and then loan him back until January

No names, of course, so people join the dots by assuming it's Yang Min-hyuk of Gangwon FC since Korean sources claim he's in negotiations with a Premier League club, with Gangwon's president saying it's a London club and negotiations are 80% done...but no names, of course

    Anyone else miss Paratici?

Gary Jacob/ Tom Allnutt reckon Ah-Ahli have indicated they’re willing to sign Richarlison.

    Not happening.

He sees himself as above the Saudi league. And he's right. Mid to lower PL striker.

The problem is no one down that end of the league is rich or stupid enough to match his fee and wages.

And the only club that is stupid enough is the one he used to play for.

Might depend on how much his injuries are linked to playing in England and/ or playing in Ange's system. I don't remember him breaking down as much for Everton as he has us.

If Saudi can prolong his career and come with the small bonus of probably doubling/ tripling his salary, it might be more appealing to him than it was maybe 6 months ago.

Calcio Lecce claim we've made an approach for Lecce (obviously...) LB Patrick Dorgu, though they want €30m

While there's reasons to be suspicious, there is a little bit of the Lange about this one: he came through Nordsjaelland's academy before joining Lecce last season, and given he's almost a hybrid of Udogie and Davies that does offer options for squad depth - and he also qualifies as an U21, given he doesn't turn 20 until October

That being said, given the source, wait to see if someone a little more credible picks up on it

...that being said, Milan are also looking at him, so if this is some sort of gambit to make sure Milan have €30m in the bank so they can't plead poverty about Emerson's asking fee, the rumours of Levy being a Bond villain are true
