Mitchell also said very clearly we hope to be challenging in 5 years not days. That's 8 years bang in the middle of the 5 to 10 estimate when the takeover went through.
We've already signed 5 players tbh, admittedly 2 of them are crappy second rate keepers, but Kelly, Hall and this guy all seem decent. Just lose Wilson and bring a striker in, and we're looking good.
Loss is the word because we can’t sell him. He’s injured again. Having something done to his back. Mole remove maybe. I can’t think of many players that have as many injuries as Wilson.
I want a striker anyway. But my point was the situation isn't as desperate as some are saying, progress is decent this far. Look at somewhere like Everton - about to sell one of their best players to Villa, and making signings like the Pele of Sheffield United.
But you appear to be complaining that Howe isn’t showing any urgency in getting new players in which is in fact Mitchell’s job now. Why should Howe be showing urgency.
2 keepers we will never use, or I hope to god we will never use. They're not even second rate. Kelly was free so I can't complain and apparently he's alright. I am sick of us signing ex-Bournemouth players though. This, Prybyslabitz or whatever the **** his name is, looks tall but I won't even pretend that I know who he is
These are all just stocking fillers.. the reports and what Mitchell said indicate they are after really serious signings for cb and rw.
If we get a very good RW I'll be happy. Think CB isn't as bad as some make out (but an upgrade would be great) and up front Isak is #1 and we have Gordon who can play there if needed (with Barnes/Willock/Joelinton on LW instead).
We need a first team replacement for Schar on par with Botman imo. And then yeah, a RW who isn't ****.
Cb is a really weak area for me... botman out half the season basically too and even then he'll take a while to find form. Kelly Schar Burn ...needs a serious upgrade for me.
Agree, but I'd add to that a young striker as cover for Isak. We need to sell Wilson while he might still be worth something.
Have some concerns. Went off to the Championship and we didn't seem to elated to have him back. We played people out of position instead of having Ashby there. When you're still considered a "development player" at 22, there's warning signs.
Its not bullying the club, telling them the conditions you need to do your job properly. I like a manager who will stand up for what he wants in any line of work. I suspect the changes in Senior Management at the club, new Sporting Director, resignation of Stavely and her husband, are causing delays in transfer activity and an unsettling of the technical management. I hope this doesn't cause any issues with the squad. Could see Bruno using it as an opportunity to move on if Howe did.
