Last time out Sunderland drew with Nottingham Forest and Eldense lost to Sporting Gijon Jack Clarke’s first-half penalty was cancelled out by Omar Richards' powerful strike as it ended level. Chris Rigg made an advancing run and was felled in the box by Murillo before Clarke stepped up from 12 yards and slammed the ball underneath Miguel Carlos. Forest produced an quickfire reply minutes into the second period when a breaking move down the left saw Richards take a touch before firing the ball of the underside of the bar and in. The Lads week long trip in the sunshine comes to an end on Sunday, when they face Segunda División outfit CD Eldense at the Pinatar Arena in San Pedro de Pinatar in Murcia. CD Eldense returned to training on the 8th of July and are set to play their first game of the pre-season in their new Hummel kit which they announced on the 18th of July. New head coach Dani Ponz replaced the popular former coach Fernando Estévez at the end of June and has worked his way up through the ranks to head coach. Regis le Bris: "We want to build a strong unit and team with ideas in different phases in the game. We want to be a proactive team. We have talented players, but the ideas behind all of this preparation is to be a team. I think that we can build this team, but we need some time and different experiences to achieve that goal." Dani Ponz : “After 21 years of work, it means that all the sacrifice we have made during this time on a personal and family level, with a lot of work and multiple jobs, like many of us who train in modest categories, you manage to reach your goal, the dream of being given that opportunity after many years." Team Lineups: Sunderland AFC: (4-2-3-1) Patterson, Cirkin, Alese, O'Nien, Hume, Neil, Browne, Clarke, Rigg, Roberts, Mayenda Subs: Moore, Chibueze, Pembele, Hjelde, Anderson, Matete, Ekwah, Jobe, Auchiche, Embleton, Mundle, Hemir, Rusyn, Watson, Bennette. My two pence: Eldense finished mid table in the Spanish second division last year and this is their first pre-season game with a new coach. We could see a completely different Sunderland side to start this one as RLB shuffles his squad. I'm hoping for a similar performance to the last game and I’m going for a 2-0 win for the lads. A game we should win Our group over here aren’t bothering like. A lot of **** on to get to and the ground isn’t great. No alcohol and no proper food (crisps only).
No idea as I've never been to that region of Spain. Seems like most people went to Benidorm or Alicante. After a quick google I'd probably go to the Corner music tavern, the food at the Amigo Sports bar looks decent - but not very authentic.
Found a bar with a caña for €1, spot on, and a Chinese bar with decent food for later. please log in to view this image
Absolutely no idea what their manager is saying ... ... is it something to do with seagulls and trawlers.
I know nowt about football tactics but I reckon RLB is getting us promoted and winning the Champions League after watching that.
I'm picturing the mags having a french manager and their fans turning up wearing berets, black and white hooped shirts and onions strung around their necks
Me neither, and early days but I get a whiff of promotion this season HA'WAY THE LADS MACKEMS ATTACKEM
Happy days. Some Sunday safc viewing. Forgot we had this game scheduled. Anyone know much about the opposition?
