So, the ICJ have declared that the Jewish settlements in Palstine are illegal and the occupiers should return to Israel. Great news but who is going to enforce this and how? The UN, no chance. America, We all know **** all is going to happen so what is the point of the ICJ and how much does it cost to keep it running. TBF if this was about anyone but Israel there would be plenty of people willing to enforce it, strange innit.
it's hardly news tbh since the 80's at the latest they have regularly had votes in the UN declaring the settllements illegal
This is slightly different in that whilst the UN have declared the settlements and occupation illegal, this is the first time the International courts of Justice have done so. However, ultimately unless people like the US and Europe put pressure on Israel, it's amounts to little more than a talking shop. The whole thing is ****ed up beyond belief. Can you imagine the response if it was Lebanon illegally occupying, stealing land and bombing Israeli women and children. The US and the West would be in there quicker than a ****in rat up a pipe obliterating that country.
Lebanon is bombing Israeli women and children all the time and the ‘ceasefire now’ nonces absolutely love it.
You missed out the illegally occupying, land stealing, resource theft, border controlling, population persecution bit
They’ve not been averse to a bit of land theft either. Doesn’t really change the point that this is just a hobby for middle-class sandal-wearing wets in their fancy dress keffiyehs who have absolutely no interest in peace.
There’s the option to share a tent with the rotting corpse of an Indian builder if you scroll down on Tripadvisor.
As you say, rather different... There will be a lot more International pressure now - not just for the removal of the 'settlements without planning permission' but also for a permanent 2 state solution with an Internationally recognised Palestine...
Who will lead this recognised Palestine as the sides join hands and sing Kumbaya for the rest of time?
Hopefully a real humanitarian politician and not a detestable murdering callous inhumane despot like Benny ...
