Jacob got out muscled and put off balance as he was about to jump. Macca just left it seemingly thinking Jacob had it covered though.
not if he wants to avoid conceding goals the club are making some strange decisions though like getting rid of our best two goalkeepers I would have recommended getting in goalkeepers who we want before letting others go
two defenders getting in the way of each other can cause problems so many of our players are short or at least look short
Maccas not short. Jacob isn't that short for a fullback either, but he's too easily out muscled for me.
what is the advantage of having a goalkeeper playing as another defender versus the risk of leaving the goal unattended? NB I'm not saying you should never pass to the goalkeeper I'm saying pass the ball so the goalkeeper comes out of goal area to collect it
It's not a new concept. Grobbelaar was known as a sweeper keeper back in the 80s. Obviously it depends a lot on the decision making of the keeper as to when it's safe and when there's a defensive threat. There's nothing wrong with it if your keeper has the ability to do that.
Obviously that’s the case, Seri knew the risk and ****ed about with it when he didn’t need to and left Pandur out to dry. We were 4-0 down I imagine he could’ve got back but why would he unnecessarily sprint in a nothing game?
Yeh and if done well Tim feels the risk is worth it, I enjoyed the 1st half so I'm on board to be honest but then I wasn't exactly an Alsop hater. If you watch the lobbed goal again, there was Seri making the initial mistake, then there was an opportunity to press the player (think it was McLoughlin), he started to do it but then changed his mind and backed off which was the wrong decision, he probably wouldn't have won the ball as the Fenerbahce player would have played in his team mate, that would then have likely presented another chance to try and get a tackle in. My point is, if done well, it shouldn't be as easy as it was last night.
