Cashless society in meltdown as card payments hit by global web outage I went to one of the local Wetherspoons on Friday afternoon and they had a sign on the bar stating that they could not take card payments due to a “global IT issue” and were only taking cash. There was only one member of bar staff and a dozen punters, so after 10 minutes waiting I timed them out and left. I went to another Wetherspoons where there were four staff and got served. What was noticeable was the total absence of Gen Z in both venues. Of course, the digital slaves of Gen Z do not carry cash around with them so when their “contactless cards” having nothing to “contact”, they are buggered. This is the way it will be – the digital slave generation are owned by their card providers and will be completely controlled by them and the State.
