Yes, the one we were being linked with most of last summer. Wouldn't be surprised if we reignited interest if terms were that favourable. Loan for the season and a comparatively reasonable fee at the end of it, payable at the start of next season - much like the deal we did for Hall. His current club are owned by Ratcliffe's company though, so would probably be a steeper price for us.
Interesting, I remember Everton raiding our academy for this guy, looks like it rapidly went to **** for him and he wasn't the genius foms they thought he was
I feel we need to really sharpen up somewhere and fast. This is a bit like Olise where we’ve kind of meekly gone in with no real hope of getting the player. Ashley moves, if you will!
Think it is probably negotiation games between Tobido's agent and West Ham or NUFC and Thiaw's agents trying to push the deals through at preferential rates. Having said that however - Lascelles, Krafthu, Schar and Burn are all out of contract at he end of the year so it's possible we could be looking at 2 CB's especially with Lacselles and Krafth having injury problems. Add to that list Trippier as well who contracts running out and we probably need a nearly whole new defence by next year... RB: Tino, Ashby RCB: Thiaw, Tobido LCB: Botman, Kelly LB: Hall, Targett What happened with the young Serbian lad that was meant to be signing, swear he was at the ground doing a tour and bits.
I'm seeing a classic mental gymnastic 1. Like a story so let's read into it and start sucking plumbs. 2. Don't like a story so mock journalists and bash the person sharing it.
I'm not bitter towards Villa I'm just not willing to pipe them off at every opportunity. I do find it interesting that when we finished 4th we were regularly told it was because the big teams had messed up, even though I pointed out regularly that we'd have got 4th place in 7 of the previous 10 seasons having attained 71 points. Yet Villa then get fewer points (68) and a much worse goal difference (+15, we had got +35. We actually had a much better goal difference than them last year too) but don't seem to get labelled as lucky in the way we were. People let their prejudices get in the way of reality too much, I tend to be more factual and objective about things.
I don't tend to believe any of the journos, whether the news is good or bad. They rarely report genuine 'exclusives' and most of what they spout is just clickbait to keep them employed.
These days the news is 24/7 so it's hard to decipher which stories have substance..they probably all carry something . But links to a player don't mean it'll happen or even this window. It's just something to follow.
They were bloody horrendous at the end of last season, and didn't even have injuries to blame for it.
I tend to believe the exact opposite of what Chaos says. Have started doing this in real life as well and found my quality of life has improved dramatically.
You didn't believe me when I said Joelinton had all the attributes to play in midfield, so yeah it works... wow.
