Becoming president will be useful for quashing any further convictions he may get, and even prevent some from being heard.

It will also be the end of NATO and the Ukraine - and hand victory and power to Putin.
We’ve seen what Trumps deputy thinks of the UK.

Just when you think it can’t get any worse - it does.

He thinks and says exactly what many of us think. This country is in a bad bad way and going to get far far worse under Labour-The biggest influx of illegals in one day has come in this week under Labour.

To a point I agree. Expanding NATO east was always risky. However, there are 2 reasons why NATO has the moral high ground:

Countries APPLY to join NATO. They aren’t forced to join - they WANT to be in it. We (or rather, Putin) should ask ourselves why - maybe because they are scared of Russia???
Russia however, influences by force. It’s a VERY bad neighbour.

All NATO countries have democratically elected governments. You don’t like Starmer - well you are free to vote for Sunak, Farage, Davey or whoever else - and those party leaders can campaign freely without interference from the state. Russia on the other hand arrests and sometimes kills anyone who stands against Putin.

Labour have placed planning reforms at the heart of their mission to drive economic growth, pledging to get Britain building.

I know I keep harping back on this subject but observations and having a number of friends in Building ... site management downward [ and small 20 person companies ] but onus on it "improve the economy get Britain building again and the financial rewards" dont equate.
Our little off forum discussions ponder the thought " it is not going to provide £bn's to the .gov coffers!" in the past year and currently house building is doing very well[ part of the " upward trend spoken of in parliament regarding the UK finances. It is likely to hit the 300,000 target [ it is not build an extra 300,000 ] then only about 50,000 or so more maybe needed to hit 300,000. The profit to be added to public is therefore minimally helpful as it already has"whatever profit" it gets from say THE CURRENT 250,000!

    comments today by opposition .........
2% inflation and going down .......... 4% unemployed and going down .... growth in G7 TOP AND GOING UP ... todays figures ... BOAT LANDINGS week ending 15th JULY labour in power .... 786 last 5 days 11th to 15th 701 ........... going up

It may not have helped pushing NATO ever closer, but invading Ukraine was nothing to do with NATO expansion imo, more to d with Putin feeling Ukraine belongs to Russia, and if he manages to secure part of Ukraine, in a couple of years, after having time to replenish he will invade the rest of Ukrain, and then rinse and repeat.

spot on .. Putrid used the "NAZI / NATO TICKET" TO 1] START THE OFFENSE ... 2] NATO expanding was due to his doing so .... Sweden/ Finland had no desire to join .... Ukraine was years away from doing so Putrid had to do something to stay in power? Lifewise for everyday Russians has been costly deathwise and financially over 500,000 killed or injured .....

Yeh, if it was due to NATO expansion it backfired as now Sweden and Finland have joined, directly as a result of the invasion of Ukraine.

the new-look House of Commons (remember, more than half the new MPs are novices, just elected this month) will begin digesting the King’s Speech. .WORRYING over 350? never been an MP nearly all Labour!

we saw the longest speech from the monarch at a State Opening of Parliament for 20 years and one of the longest since the Second World War. ... put so much in it so they hopefully get something right to crow about!

Sir Keir has the opportunity to begin to mould the country in his image, as he embraces a more interventionist, muscular state and a leftward political tilt – take the idea of the railways returning to public ownership, for instance.....biblical proportions come to mind, nationalize railways ..going to be a battle there then £Trn's tied up in that .. compensation needing to be paid?

But it's one thing promising it. Another actually making it happen, however many set piece moments your opening fortnight in office serves up.

90,000 to go to Rwanda? , there were places for 200, you do the math how many years it would have taken to send 90,000 <laugh><laugh>

    edit
Rwanda was never meant to take that many, the whole idea was it was meant to be a deterrent to stop others coming.
