Where did that stat come from? EDIT: it may have related to World Cup, Euros & CL. The two CL losses were all Spanish finals (Madrid finals) so although you are right, the stat is right too.

Conte's their manager now so I wonder if there's any truth in it seeing as Conte via Don Fabio brought him to Spurs, or it could just be an easy story to make up due to that link. Kulu's such an annoying player for me because he has top class ability but not top class consistency, far from it if we're being honest. If we could make a small profit on what we paid, I think I'd let him go, especially if that further opened the door to Neto.
Agreed. He hasn't had the best luck with injuries but I'm worried his game is too one-dimensional to ever tear it up at PL level. It worked when he first joined and was an unknown but defences have very quickly worked him out and discovered that he is easy to shepherd onto his weaker foot, and that he isn't good receiving ball to feet with his back to goal. His stamina and strength would make him an asset in a counter attacking side, which we are not.

A very interesting decision. I'm taking it as confirmation of what a number of us were pointing out throughout last season: while still a magnificent player, Son is starting to decline which means a long-term contract isn't an option, irrespective of how marketable he is. I reckon he'll be allowed to leave on a free when his current contract expires. It's time to start looking for a long term replacement.

At his age it wouldn’t make sense to give him a long term contract. Couple more years should mean the club can ease in a successor although signing dross like Werner twice on loan doesn’t help in that regard. Even if he’s on the decline he's still the best attacking player Spurs have by quite some distance.
He is. But we used him as the central striker far too often last season. It has never been his strongest position and that's doubly true now that he is starting to slow down. Signing an upgrade on Richarlison is absolutely crucial.
