There's nothing you can say sometimes. The cult ignore the evidence and now they'll say they all knew and it wasn't hard to figure out.

    We know the truth.

The good news is it sounds like the club is in good shape now. And we can spend on the right players.

Sounds like Mitchel will be a good appointment. And the performance director is there because of the injury chaos last season.

I don’t think that crap will happen again next season.

Lots of interesting snippets from Eales latest interview.

    PIF losing interest?
"This is an ownership group that have got a big portfolio of companies," he said. "In one sense, on a scale of investment, it's probably one of their smallest but in terms of profile and their interest, it's one of their highest. We can see that from what we are trying to do at the club in terms of the journey they're going on and they're fully committed.

"We're excited. I've spoken about the end of the cycle with PSR and this is a big year for us now going forward as we go on that journey to become a club competing for trophies and being in Europe every season. That's got to be our aim going forward."

Howe having too much control of transfers, going to waste our summer budget?
"Eales explained that Mitchell has been brought in to 'channel Eddie onto what he does best and that is on the grass'."

Howe able to leave for £5m release clause?
"Eales has not held recent discussions with Howe about his future, but the Newcastle boss signed a new multi-year contract last summer, which does not include a set release clause."

Howe will never leave Newcastle... he hung around unemployed and knows this is the best job he's going to ever get.

Well, with such ambitious owners and boardroom staff, the only way he'll hang around now is if he is successful, in which case fair enough. I think we are starting phase 2 of the project and so the bar will be raised.

Indeed I agree. This is the second phase. It’s all got serious now. Howe will be professional. He’s had his ups and downs but now it’s about delivering.

    And I think he will.

Want to tell me where he say's this?

He say's we had 2 years where the club made losses of over £70m each year and as a result of that, it meant "we were quite tight" with regards PSR rules.

At no point can I see where he say's we were over. He then say's that PSR rules almost obligates clubs to sell homegrown players due to book value, and that it means clubs have to act smart and accordingly in the transfer window.

Then states that the good news is one of those years with £70m losses now drops off and the additional revenues from Adidas and the Stack will men we're in a much healthier position in the future and that other deals are coming down the track.

It could be argued they wanted to milk as much cash out as they could towards the end of the financial year so as to post as big a profit as possible with the next 2 and 3 years in mind.

He clearly said we had to be PSR compliant. And that it is basically wrong that we had to sell our homegrown player and a player we wanted to keep to meet PSR requirements.

The fact that we roll on is irrelevant. We simply had to make 60m plus before June 24.

    Fact!

And a lot of people didn’t think we had to sell.

Bonkers when the club was basically telling us in January that we couldn’t spend. And we didn’t.

And then we sold 68m of players days before 30 June.

    ****ing interesting that isn’t it.
