he will be when a Liverpool player is starting for England. he is just a cockney paddy pimblett at the moment.
What Dyche achieved at Burnley was impressive... and he also turned around a freefalling Everton... Of the 'domestic' possibilities he'd be my preferred choice ... seems to get the best out of the players that play for him and also not afraid to give good young talent opportunities - e.g. McNeil whilst at Burnley, Branthwaite at Everton ...
Yeah but can you imagine if someone lobs a beer at him, he'll probably walk over and bite their ear off.
Think I qualify as a Toon ****. I think it's a job that needs long term stability over the next 3 to 4 tournaments - not going to get that with Jose, or Klopp or anybody like that. I think Potter will get it, and I actually think he'd do a decent job there given the time. I'd love to see us playing an attacking press like EH employs at Newcastle, but not sure he's tactically cut out for the highest level and biggest decisions. That said, it never hurt Garuf, and EH has had and underbelly of dross to work with with us so has been somewhat stymied. Think EH would actually be the best man for it considering A) Englishness, B) likelihood of staying long term and C) brand of football. Would have to hope he could make the right calls tactically.
I’ve always assumed Lee Carsley would be the next man after Southgate. He’s done a good job in the England set-up with the youth and he also seems to be a yes man. Seems like a perfect appointment for the FA.
