Spain look the real deal. They are playing like a team - all balance and fluidity. Just need that ruthless touch in front of goal.
I've been enjoying the Euros. On the whole the football has been exciting to watch. The TV commentators are doing an ok job, but the co-commentators and pundits are driving me crazy. Come on TV companies, save some money and get rid of the lot of them.
I have to say I've been really enjoying the Euros. Some real passion on display and with just one or two exceptions, good attacking football. Getting back to the club games where success is bought and the richest prevail, will take some adjustment. Too old to give up on it now though.
Haven't seen much of it to be honest - been away and avoided the TV like the plague. What I have seen has been very entertaining but for all it's flaws, I can't wait for the club football to start again.
I've not watched much either, but have enjoyed what I've seen. Missed the Georgia vs Czech game as I was watching Wales v SA. Might watch Belgium v Romania. Very close colour combinations in their flags.
I was watching The Big Match Revisited this morning - Liverpool 1 Man U 2 was the main have. Hansen was playing in that. Muddy bumpy pitch in driving rain. Strange to recall a top flight game then was basically 11 Brits v 11 Brits. Grobbelar was the sole exception as far as I could see.
Just been having some banter with a fishing mate. He's retired now, but was a football coach for ages. Spent time in Saudi, with Man City academy and the England U18 side that included Scholes, Campbell, Gary Neville and Robbie Fowler when they won the U18s European Championship. Worked for Wigan when Moore was there. Anyway, after sending me a picture of him with Southgate and Holland, the latter he worked with for some time, and another with Trippier who he coached for many years, I felt it necessary to give him both barrels. Messages have gone very quiet. I'm sure he'll be in touch when he's after a few fishing pointers.
