Would have got good odds on Panama, Canada and Venezuela getting through their groups ahead of USA, Mexico and Chile in the Copa America.
Brazil v Colombia later here, think it'll be 2am UK time mind. Should be a good game. Group standings: Groups | Copa America CONMEBOL
Said he, failing to mention that Asprilla's Colombia finished top - so he could potentially miss out on at least two more weeks of pre-season training.
Sorry . Potentially as he will probably want a break too afterwards. Think Porteous is back now but guess he didn’t do a lot at the Euros !
Brazil gave away a lot of chances, but Colombia couldn't score more than 1. Quarter finals: Copa America 2024: Quarter-finals guide - Nunez, Messi, Diaz, David - BBC Sport Probably be Argentina v Brazil or Colombia final now. EDIT: Maybe Uruguay can beat Brazil. So, probably Argentina to win I guess.
The difference one player can make... While Messi was off on international duty, the top two teams in the MLS played each other last night.
Millwall have signed 27 year old Macaulay Langstaff for reportedly £700,000 plus add-ons. I have read that Watford are putting considerable effort into searching for a striker who can lead the line and score goals. Please will someone explain why Watford have shown no interest in this player (or any other player from the lower leagues). He scored a record number of goals in the National League (2022-23) and he was the leading scorer in League Two (2023-24). He is a physical player who is quick, presses well and scores goals. Langstaff has had a similar career trajectory to Jamie Vardy and should have been affordable for Watford. There is no guarantee that he will be able to continue scoring goals in the Championship, but Langstaff (who is English) would have been cheaper than Rajovic and would be a relatively low risk signing. I shall not be surprised if he scores for Millwall against Watford in the first game of the season.
He has had his critics, but a 60% win rate is not that shabby. It has to be a difficult job, when you travel the length of the country to watch players, but don't have them until international games appear. I think I will remember him for his kind approach to his players and staff as much as his team performances.
The next manager will have to win and be attacking at the same time Semi finals will be the least expected too. Won’t get much time to settle in .
Not a good look for these Argentine players and will be very awkward when they go back to playing with French team mates. https://news.sky.com/story/amp/chel...zo-fernandez-taunting-france-players-13179146
"I stand against discrimination in all forms..." Yeah - right. Does he really expect anyone to believe that? Peoples' true beliefs/opinions have a habit of being exposed in the heat of the moment.
