If this is the one next to the Butchers shop (Fields?) in the main Street of Anlaby, it is very, very, good.
Birhanda ? the one that is opposite 3 tuns (old Pepis building is meant to be good according to curry magazine), but it looked shut when we was looking at somewhere nice to eat. Taj Mahal on anlaby rd/stirling street has always been a nice meal and evening out for us.
I was thinking of the one in Anlaby itself on the corner, think it's called Amaan. Near the Red Lion.
Alishaan in Cott has excellent food but the waiters are miserable as sin. It's like they are doing you a favour by serving you. Voujon is good as well. I'd give Rays a miss. That is all.
allachi wold rd is fantastic but you have to book weekends and take your own beer in an hour beforehand and they will pop it in the fridge for you!!
We had a very long debate about this topic a while ago, from memory, I believe Raj Pavillion was voted the best, with Bengal Pride a close second.
I went to Raj a month or 2 ago and was shocked by the poor quality on offer. It was a shadow of what they used to serve a few years back. Best for me in Hull by far is the new Bengal Lounge but it's an area in which the city does lack to be honest.
