I hadn't realised Longman is still our player and only 23, Tim will also be assessing him as one of the youngsters, second chance?
Turkey as I'm presuming he's been told the same as me. I'd presume ( just my opinion ) we'll see Jaden announced first then incomings
He’s a versatile forward, clearly got edge to produce something special as a forward. Perfect super sub…
He definitely at worst, worth keeping in the squad for the little we'd probably get for him/cost to replace him.
Longman - He's young and has championship experience and can score the odd goal out of nothing. Put him in a progressive team (which hopefully we will be) he can hopefully take his levels up a notch. He's also a utility man can play all across the front and even all the way down each side even as a make shift full back. If we're running with a smaller, tighter first team squad him (and Bree - another utility man) could be vital.
Watched clips from the friendly and training, Walter really impresses me, hearing him bellowing forward in a thick angry German accent is enough for me to believe we are winning the league. up the tigers.
You would think the media / brain team would hold off annoucing the incoming signing until the Philogene sale is due to complete , to deflect and counter any negativity regarding the sale of Jaden for a mediocre price.
My outside punt is Rasmus Kristensen. Not wanted at Leeds and spent last year on loan at Roma. But it doesn't fit the champ experience bill that Baz has quoted
Yeah sorry everybody, I meant Turkey, we've still got to play big clubs like Fiorentina and Doncaster before pre season is over.
We haven't really sold him for a mediocre price though. Ipswich bid £18m with a 30% sell on clause. Villa have matched that. We would have had to give Villa their sell on but means Villa now have to give us 30% whenever they sell him again.
Longman is nowhere near as bad as many make out. Granted he’s probably not what you’d want to rely on as a first choice attacker if you’re wanting to get in the top 6 but he’s perfectly fine as a member of the squad. I also think there’s potentially a lot more to come from him. He’s got good technique and can hit a wicked shot.
He did play 36 first team games for Millwall last season, at least he didn't spend his time in the stiffs. Hopefully he will have gained some valuable experience from his time in South London.
