I think ultimately, the quality of their players was just better than ours...

Outplayed for the majority of the match so the best team won and could have done by more. Sorry, but once again Southgate was too slow with his subs.
Palmer should have been on from the start and Southgate kept Harry Kane on for too long.
We did well to reach another final and at least we didn't get cheated out of it.
    Well done Spain.

Any side who wins every game in a tournament throughly deserves the trophy. Good final and the best team won.for me. They controlled it so well and we finally got found out.

Too many disappointing performances both today and in the whole tournament but our battling attitude probably got us further than we deserved to.

Bellingham showed flashes of quality, as did Saka and Foden but none where consistent enough.

It was the right call to start Kane in every game, after all he's ended up the joint top scorer, but it was obvious that he's not playing at the level he can.

We are a couple of quality players short and were found out today.

Southgate will go now but, to be fair to him, we're in a better position than when he started.

    The wait goes on.

Can’t argue with a team winning a tournament who have won all their games in it.

Good keeping kept England in that in the second half.

Media here stating that Graham Potter is taking over.

Best team of the tournament, best on the night. Shame we didn't take a step up from the semi final performance. We definitely had more in us, just did not get into our game. Good to get to the final, but back to all things city.

Any team beating Italy, Germany, France and England to win a euros, and winning comfortably each time, fully deserves it. Top class by Spain, head and shoulders above EVERYONE they've played.

Best team won. We’ve played well for 45 minutes all tournament. Someone else deserves a crack at coaching them because our players are way better than the current coach allows them to be.

    Agreed.
Wonder how we'd have got on under Allardyce, if he hadn't been a billy big bollocks.
    Nowhere near is my guess.

Will be a strange tournament to look back on, a 2nd final for Southgate and only our 2nd in 58 years is an incredible achievement, however, we maybe played to our potential for a total of about 90 mins across the whole tournament, and only then when we'd gone a goal down and desperately needed to score. Even tonight, at 1 down we pressed, attacked and harried and put Spain on the back foot, only to immediately sit back once we'd equalised. ultimately, I think this will be another tournament of wondering what could have been.

I said in 1966 we would never win another tournament until we had a Hull City player in the team. And, 58 years, later, still right,
