It’s just a song and when we say it, it’s just another way of saying ‘come on England’. I get foreigners will find it annoying but I don’t get why you would as an English man?

Okay, let me ask you a question: did you think asking me is I sing a song at the Spurs stadium before and/or during a Spurs match is in any way comparable to bellowing a part of a song, which completely misses the context of the song, nowhere near the stadium and not even on the day the team is playing is in any way comparable?

FFS, stay away from the Old Firm boards...

I don’t know the background of born in the us and can only talk for the song we all sing during tournaments.

Just enjoy tonight and hopefully we get to see England and Harry Kane win a major trophy which would be amazing to see

And this is the point: Born in the USA is not a pro-USA anthem, far from it (as anyone who actually ever read the lyrics would tell you) yet it's been bastardised for decades at this point by the worst kind of populist politicians stateside in spite Bruce Springsteen repeatedly stating that is not the point of the song yet somehow the likes of Trump (because of course he's the most recent example) ignore it because it sounds tubthumpy enough

And this is the biggest issue with the bastardisation of Three Lions: it's become something bellowed by dickheads trashing Leicester Square while shoving firecrackers up their backsides, or at least three words of the whole song while the rest is ignored, and the biggest irony is that Euro 96 has long been idealised as the moment where England fans managed dispelled the worst of the 70s and 80s - and yet come 2021 people were bellowing the refrain while making Wembley look like a January 6th reenactment

Luke Shaw starts, which gives England more going forward on the left. His crosses should provide some better service for Kane.
And maybe he can score an early goal in the Final like last time.

I was a bit surprised when he came on last game, he actually looked fit.
Usually when he has been out for more than a week he comes back well over weight.

I do not want player injury recoveries risked by the
stupidity/vanity of managers or the player themselves.

Because I want to see England win a major trophy in my lifetime.

So many tournaments and heartache over the years, desperate for tonight to be different.

Any English person not wanting them to win baffles me tbh

I can't really speak for King, but my guess would be because he is English and supports the national football team (those are my reasons anyway)

    Right call I think.

He might not last 90mins but better to start him and sub him than bring him on at half time with Trippier being destroyed by Lamine Yamal and England already 2-0 down.

    Bingo.

So many defeats and heartache over the years. Plus England doing well seems to bring people together. Even my family group chat is full of football talk and several members of my family don’t really have interest in football but everyone is willing England on and watching the game together etc

I want the national teams to give a good account of
themselves, and whatever the end result, that the
outcome was not decided by controversial events not
    in their control.

But I would never be desperate to see them win.
