Still think we will see a huge rise in his approval ratings now. Be utterly astounded if he doesn't end up in the white house. Narrative is there now. One who literally gets shot in the head and stands up , clenched fists with the American flag against one who struggles to hold a conversation.
I see people still not grasping the enormity of this event. The language in the media about Trump has been the biggest contributor to creating loopers like the bloke who fired the gun, constant references to the end of America and Fascism is putting vulnerable people is a dialectical trap where they think it's better to shoot Trump in the head than allow him to live and run for President. The rhetoric has to stop and ramp down or things will continue to escalate, there are people in America who really believe that Trump is going to overthrow democracy and instate dictatorship, become right wing Stalin with his own statues everywhere, have a word man.
Just a couple of things to ponder. The republican Party is THE most Pro Gun party. Now that their support of The NRA , has come close to home, I wonder is some of their more rationa members, (there MUST be some!), might have second thoughts. The recent outpouring of wisdom from The Supreme Coourt of The USSofA, seems to say that a President is above the law. So President Biden COULD have ordered this attempt, and couldn't be touched for it.
People find all kinds of things funny, it doesn't mean they don't see the other side of it ... ... soldiers in war zones have 'gallows humour' to cope with things and they're often shot at. Everyone can see the enormity I'd say, it's an ex and probably next President of the most powerful nation. But it's true that shootings, in the US, have become so commonplace they barely rate a mention on the news any more. And while I wouldn't say Trump is totally to blame even he would admit he's a bit of a rabble rouser ... ... this is what can happen when you reach a certain level of hysteria. Trump was quite savage in his attacks on Biden, it only takes one deranged person to respond in this kind of way.
Awful post honestly. Someone tried to kill him, this has happened due to escalated rhetoric which pliable minds absorb. The media and all those involved need to de escalate unless they're committed to becoming a joke second world country where political foes are shot and killed. Trump was a boring as fvck right-centre President between 2016-2020, no statues built, no burning of the constitution, no nowt. This is your Hitler? Pathetic.
You just can't talk about Americans, specifically republican NRA members, being rational about guns. It's not a thing.

Unless people have been involved in life threatening situations, I don't think they appreciate the value of gallows humour. It never translates well Smug, I have had many bollockings from my missus for saying things my mates found hilarious but she was absolutely mortified.
