Wealth allows you to have health checks As well as see a specalist within a week Instead of weeks or months at nhs Etc which can catch things at the earliest stages Often with the nhs When a lot of diseases are discovered Its too late as its not until symptoms are present and symptoms are usually a sign of late progression
Those from NHE will remember the Doctors on Greenwood. Two doctors, Rintool and Deacon, no appointment necessary just turn up when feeling ill sit 15 or 20 minutes till your turn. In the afternoons they did home visits for those unable to come to the surgery like the elderly and pregnant women. On call during the night too. Where did it all go wrong?
Making the change refundable if attended struck me as being a reasonable thing to do. From what I see with the NHS, it is not more money needed,it id better use of it. Apparently 40% of our GDP goes on it, which is above most countries. I just found it astonishing that there are 1.2m employees in the NHS 50% of which are non medical. Too much money wasted on pen pushers, these DEI managers or Directors are a waste of money, as all they do it try to find other situations to justify their existence, it is a never ending, as once there fulfil their initial objective they have to find other virtue signalling reasons to justify their existence. Meritocracy is the only way to make things work to their maximum.
When I had the series of B12 injections the receptionist wrote on a piece of paper for me all the times dates and locations. Turned up at the surgery for the third or fourth at 1.00pm as instructed and the place was shut and all locked up. I found a fire door wedged open round the back and went in, much to the surprise of the staff inside, they said they were closed for staff training, I said and showed the paper that I had an appointment. later they called and rearranged the appointment. Much to my surprise a week later I got a short nasty letter from the GP informing me that I had not turned up for an appointment and cost the NHS 150 quid furthermore should it happen again I could be removed from the Doctors list of patients. Stomped off round there with my paper showing all the times and dates, and told them it wasn't my mistake but theirs. I asked if they would send me a letter of apology just to close things off correctly, basically told no chance of that and to just forget about it. Not in this case but in I general I am thinking they claim no shows as a cover for their inefficiencies.
Some of the admin is woeful, although it’s not the fault of the staff (and I wouldn’t say incompetence from what I’ve seen) but the absolutely ****e, disconnected, systems they’re made to work with. All the booking systems in Castle Hill are separate and don’t speak to each other, and also have faults (or at least without obvious checks built in) too regardless.
