I suppose it's too much to hope that Jimmy takes a 7 fer and shares 2nd place on the all time wicket taking table with the late great Shane Warne..... what a pairing that would be.....

West Indies are a sad shadow of their 80's side.
Its good to see England win but a sterile atmosphere even for Lords.

That was fun, 13 wicket's, two for Anderson, Stokes joins just a party of three (Sobers, Kallis) to get 6000 runs and 200 wickets, nice weather good company and lots of beer, perfect day

Sterile probably wrong term, what I meant was very one-sided.
Great to see England doing well.
I just remember growing up and seeing the fearless West Indies teams, their crowd, colour, volume and bullishness.
Even though I was impressed with England I guess I also wanted to see the West Indies as I remembered them.

You are right, not many West Indies fans there and those that were there were quiet, English fans fairly buoyant. I did see one of the best run outs ever by the oppo, even if Bashir missed read the situation

Bye bye Jimmy, England's greatest ever bowler and probably in the World's top 10 of all time. A true giant of swing bowling and a skillset to rival anyone's. He'll be sorely missed, on the ground anyway. Things will never feel the same without him and Broady steaming in !

I understand the emotion and some hyperbole in the moment but to claim that he is in the top 10 bowlers world wide in cricket history is just crazy. He wouldn't make the top 10 medium or fast bowlers in world cricket history let alone if you include slow bowlers.
Australians found him to be dead average except when conditions were just right for him and his average against us was exactly that - average.
Seems a good guy and a great servant for England and Wales and I wish him all the best but top 10 all time? Nah..

For starters off the top of my head from the past 50 years, but not including any current players.
    Marshall
    Holding
    Garner
    Roberts
    Ambrose
    Walsh
    Pollock
    Kallis
    Khan
    Dev
    Hadley
    McGrath
    Lillee
    Warne
    Muralitharan
    Willis
    Botham
    Underwood

I can't imagine any captain choosing Jimmy ahead of any of those on a consistent basis. Only if conditions were perfect for him would he even be in the conversation.

Instant success for them, Crawley out 3rd ball but England go all T20 and are 21/1 from 2 overs.....

I’m off to Worcestershire v Derbyshire T20, with a few Worcester pubs thrown in first. Massive advantage of a direct, though very slow, train door to door. I’d forgotten about the Test. Oops.
