why? because they are historic? Attract big crowds? Are Fan/Team/Driver Favourites? Not build by Tilke?

oh I see they are not giving you money hey Bernie? You know what? why dont you start doing your ****ing job and build a sport that the fans want! afterall Sport is a form of entertainment not something to abuse to gain a large buck! Kick this idiot out, I have had enough of him!

    Power to the Fans!

Very passionate Bando. Completely understandable too.

Now perhaps people are beginning to see a bit more of the link with Murdoch? Anyone who buys into it is furthering the aims of both. It simply increases the stranglehold they both already have - and now they have teamed up!

    Thanks Cosi,

Im already annoyed I wont be able to watch F1 much next year but now the possibility I wont be able to attend a race? Bernie is doing his best to alianate the sports long standing fanbase.

I bet you the chinese wont be bothered about F1 leaving but there would be uproar in spain, germany or here

Incredible... He's off his mash! I really do question why I bother with this sport sometimes. All he cares about is his stature and bank balance... not one ounce of thought for the fans.

Says a lot, when teams and tracks struggle to make ends meet and he's rolling in billions of dollars. He's killing it.... he needs to go.

You're right. But of course, all this does is put the rice up further! Simple economics: it gives Bernie an ever increasing demand for a product which he limits.

Like the banks, they only care about their customers when they need to attract them. Once attracted and with no means of escape, they are trapped in a cycle; easy victims while the bankers play with other people's money. Murdoch plays this selfish game better than most: he's got away with sucking in both public opinion (through the media) and the politicians so that the whole UK system cannot escape!

Bernie may be small fry compareed to Murdoch, but he is no mere amateur. They go about their business in fundamentally different ways, but their aims are essentially selfish and never philanthropic - at least; beyond their own dynasties!

It would seem Ecclestone clearly needs to find other ways of raising cash particularly when he's got two daughters with some quite extraordinary spending habits. Anyone see on the news Tamara's £45 million house that she's just spent another £18 million renovating? What's going to happen when she decides to upgrade her £1 million crystal bath? Daddy would have to find some extra cash from somewhere!

While I agree with all your opinions and was equally disgusted when I read this earlier, I think there's an element of spiteful provocation in this. I've noticed Bernie has been spouting this line that Europe is finished/history quite a few times recently and I wonder if these corruption allegations he's been caught up are part of the reason. He's been called to account in Germany over them and forced to reveal details of his dealings which he'd have preferred to keep private. I expect Bernie's business methods are easier to pursue unhindered in some other parts of the world, no questions asked.

I just wonder how much more damage he can do to our sport before time catches up with him.

;) So you've seen the show too! There's some shocking stuff, isn't there? My favourite was her at the Monaco GP, "a very important family reunion" which turned out to be a five minute photo opportunity before Daddy went straight back to business. Said it all really.

I bet Monaco is one of the five GPs he keeps.

Pretty sad to the the sport move away from its roots, in favour of new oil rich countries.

Money talks, but i think there should be something put in place to keep the old gems, as drivers and fans alike love them.

Set up European F1 championship. I'm sure the teams would love to have all the races closer to home. Bring back San Marino, two races in Germany, Britain and Spain and ressurect some of the others Austria France Sweden Portugal Holland. Let BE go to Asia, preferably to stay in a nice apartment in on the Afghan/Pakistan border.

I like your idea ;) But it would probably end up run by the Murdochs.

The BBC could probably afford to cover Europe only, without all the moaners complaining about "their" license fee.
