I think he could be, has all the attributes needed to develop as one but suspect he’s a midfielder long term. A really good centre forward has to be the top priority now and ideally two.
As I said it’s a decent basis. Right forward could easily be Ba or Mundle and I’m sure we will sign a centre forward. I’d also like another centre half that’s better than O’Nien but if we intend to play similarly to under Mowbray that’s easier said than done, he gets a lot of criticism but is actually very good there.
We have to have someone who can play a lone role, that doesn’t mean just stand with your back to goal hold it up and pass it backwards. We are desperate for movement, pace and goal threat. Central defenders didn’t work hard enough last year.
From a quick google he’s been a head coach before too and done okay, I’ve only looked at his ppg mind, never heard of him prior to this link haha
Archer done that for Boro 2 seasons ago with Akpom sat behind him and he was one of the best players in the league. They both were tbf
Elsewhere unfortunately. Particularly unfortunate for Embo who was featuring heavily under Mowbray before he got injured but he hasn't kicked a ball in anger since then and Matete I just don't think is up to the level. Both will have solid EFL careers though.
Matete I reckon we got promoted too early for, if we didn't go up that year he would have had another season in league 1 and would have been more likely to be able to step. Needs to go elsewhere and we will probably see him being stand out in league 1 or a lower championship player.
