So it turns out there's the good type of South American nutcase, and the bad kind of South American nutcase
I think they were plastic ones filled with water, likely the ones players drink in games if there’s a brief stoppage, what’s worse though is he hit his own staff member with one instead of the Colombians attacking the Uruguayan families… great aim, Rodrigo .
Take a leaf out-of Barry Fry's playbook...and go and piss in all 4 corners of the stadium they're playing the final in, or Kane's hotel room. We'll see you again in a couple of years...hopefully.
Just seen this post as was posting on the Prem board last night during the game. Why so harsh towards England? I thought last night was a decent watch, yes got lucky with the penalty and second half the Dutch massively improved but ultimately Southgate made the right subs and they won the game and England are their second consecutive European championship final
Over on r/coys they're convinced it was a glass bottle, mainly based off this clip Darwin Nunez throwing a chair in the same brawl has me tempted to chant Eee-See-DUB
Yeah literally just saw that angle before seeing your post, could well be glass. Initial angle I saw didn’t look as bad but that impact does seem to be a smash more so than water just bursting out of a cap. Terrible aim, man. Got about 75 Colombians and you hit one of the few Uruguayans trying to help the families out! Him and Nunez probably gonna be hit with hefty bans and fines. Hopefully it’s only international but wouldn’t be surprised if FIFA make it a global thing.
To be fair plastic bottles can smash just like glass - as I know full well when I was about two feet from being killed a couple of years ago by a builder dropping one from the 20+ storey tower block they were building
Neither fills me with any confidence but Shaw looked well short of match fitness last night. Only made one or two contributions all half and didn't work hard enough to counter or stretch Holland's extra man in midfield. Bit of a waste of a plane ticket but I'm not sure what else we were expecting. The guy hasn't played since February so to ask him to just step in and start in a major final against world class opposition is a huge risk.
Funnily enough I've had the joyful experience of having a glass bottle lobbed at my head that didn't smash!
Knowing our luck, Nunez will get a suspended sentence, valid from the day after he leaves Liverpool, while Bentancur will be banned from domestic football only.
Bentancur would then have my full blessing to lob more bottles, though hopefully his aim will be a bit better.
Lol if anything being English up here makes you more pro England. All tournament I’ve had crap from neighbours and colleagues about how badly England have played and how they would lose in the last 16, then the quarters and then the semi’s. Guess what they all said today ‘youse are gonnae get pumped by the Spanish’ If England win the final, I will thoroughly enjoy work on Monday (albeit I’ll be starting in the afternoon and not the morning)
Looking at the penalty incident again and VVD having words with the ref. I can only assume the ref said : VAR laughs at you in Sissoko.
There's a Scottish bloke that's flown the flag of every English opponent so far! He already put the Spanish one up this morning: please log in to view this image
I recall Jack Docherty had an anti-English character (Absolutely ?? ) . One of the sketches had him putting movie ideas to an agent. One of the proposals was a terminator sci-fi where it goes back to 1966 to kill Geoff Hurst.
I’ve seen that, it’s hilarious. He’s a good luck charm. The ‘anyone but England’ mentality still exists amongst some up here.
